But that's why cup competitions are so difficult. :smiley-laughing002:

Do you mean the 7-game run to finish his 3rd season (the one where Tommy Burns died?) The run in thing is interesting, with so much at stake, a great manager can get that extra bit out of his players in a tight run in, I don't dispute that. Nevertheless to win 7 matches in a row like that precisely when needed was really an incredible achievement precisely because the probabilities are so low of doing that at exactly the right time. In other words it was an awesome achievement for exactly the same reason that it's not reasonable to expect Deila to do it now.

OK, admittedly 5iar isn't as incredible as 7, it's more exceptional than incredible/awesome, but you get what I mean. It's not reasonable to expect Ronny to pull off something exceptional to keep his job.

Your approach is far saner than demanding 5 wins from 5: let's just watch the * games and we'll see for ourselves whether the team continues to show the necessary improvement. As I say, in practice we all know the difference between failing to win 5iar due to random factors and failing to do it because we're not playing well.

Stop going on about weakness, mate. 6 wins and a draw from the first 8 games is actually a pretty decent start for us historically. It's neither unusually good, nor unusually bad. We're hardly dropping points all over the place as if we were in cruise control.

It's been the performances that had us concerned and its the performances that have now improved (let's see if that continues before calling for the manager's head).

I'm not sure everbody realises the implications of dropping further behind Aberdeen before we meet again. It would mean that the next game between us is a must win or the league would be out of our hands.

John Barnes got sacked for that, and that was at a time deadco. were spending millions they didn't have.

John Barnes had better players than Ronny could even dream of. What do you think Deila could do with Viduka, Moravcik, Berkovic, Petrov, Mjällby, even Larsson for the start of the season?

Probably send two out on loan stick one if the development team and bring Larsson on as an 87th minute sub.

He would have one of Larrson or Viduka on the bench anyway to start with.

Anyone got a list/know the general win ratio/percent of the precious managers per season?
Deila at 75% (I hope ive quickly counted that right) doesnt seem too bad if that played out all season?

King Kenny and Henrik. Proud to have seen them both play.
    From Wikipedia

    Ronny - From 76 games - 66.67% win ratio
    Lenny - From 228 games - 69.74% win ratio
    WGS - From 182 games - 67.03% win ratio
St Martin - From 282 games - 75.53% win ratio

and for the record, Mowbray had a 51.11% from 45 games

    Thanking you!
Bang average record for their overall career/celtic jobs.
Taking just this season start though, and knowing we tend to get better as the season goes on, he could out do Martins record with this season ha
