Absolutely not; but they were lesser than Rangers.

Well that's no true is it. If Celtic fans were asked what they rather the club achieved, a treble or a run to the Champions League final and even just losing it.

A bet the majority would take the amazing run to the final over the silver.

    That can't be denied:86:

    Hughes hasn't won any silverware.

    Neilson & Deila have.

True but that takes me back to going beyond expectations, Champions League final is behond our wildest ones.

    Again, performing above expectations.

I thought it should have went to Deila btw, I just think Hughes has oerformed well above what was expected of Caley Thistle. Can see that argument with Neilson as well but he's done it at a considerably lower level.

And Hughes has a real shot at silverware this season, he's in the Scottish Cup Final, remember?

I'm not actually that surprised that Caley are where they are. Always a team who are capable of an upset and have plenty of players who know their way about the SPL.

A honestly find that baffling, that you say McInnes didn't deserve manager of the year because 2nd place was expected.

Yet we were expected to win the league and at least one cup but you think Ronny should of won it.

A think you have the green tinted specs on:smiley-laughing002:

Expecting and doing is two different things. To win a double against any standard of opposition is some feat. When you take in to account a last 32 finish in Europe and a semi robbery in another cup, it's a very good season..
McInnes has done well to keep the pace but he has been horsed off us in every game this season. The domestic cups are poor as well, Aberdeen 'should' be looking to reach one of the finals. He's not a manager of the year, for me..

Well, for one we've actually won something. If you go back to the start of the season most people were expecting Ronny to be an utter failure as well after the Qualifiers and his slow start to the season, he was getting stick from all angles.

He recovered well, got us into the last 16 of the Europa League as Scotlands sole representive in Europe, completely revitilised the club, played attractive football and has been a winner throughout it.

Aberdeen were expected to come 2nd at the very least, they wanted more silverware this season, they failed to achieve that. If one of Falkirk and ICT are going to win the Scottish Cup, you can't tell me that's beyond Aberdeen?

I never expect us to win the league cup either anyway, we're historically gash at it :56:

Why you bringing up Europe? It's not the SFAs competition so doesn't count in regards to manager of the year in Scotland. :smiley-laughing002:

As you said yourself, "Expecting and doing is two different things.", Aberdeen were expected to get second place and they did so well done them. Great feat.

But for Aberdeen to be so far ahead in second place as they are, is just outstanding. Us aside, to be un beating against all the other teams in the league for a 5-6 month period is astonishingly brilliant. Again great feat.

McInnes didn't deserve it IMO, and even less so Ronny. Top 4 managers this season for me..

    1. Neilson
    2. McInnes
    3. Ronny
    4. Hughes

A shot yes, but what if he gets beat off lower league opposition. Disaster, no? Still manager of the year?

He's won nothing yet and pretty much come where he was expected to and is miles behind the next place.

But again, as you said, it was to be expected. Your words not mine:smiley-laughing002:

A just think your very biased, but hey each to there, we've all got our opinions.

Why no? When taking in to account what Ronny has done domestically, in his first season, with European football after Christmas, it definitely should be highlighted as an even bigger success..

You've put Ronny above yogi, yogi has had a better season in finishing 3rd and getting to a cup final on no resources than Aberdeen who have flopped in the cups, and who have the second biggest budget in the league..
