He really makes me feel in the loop as a fan. Obviously there are things that need to be private but I really like his frankness in telling us what is happening, what the plans are, etc.

In an interview with Norwegian TV2 Ronny said his dream is to one day lead Celtic in the Premier league. He thinks that Celtic can become one of the best teams in the world and he wants to be a part of that. Celtic is all about passion, he said. If you don't have passion, you wont be here. He hopes to stay at Celtic for many years.

    Nice! :50:

Here's a word by word translation:

    ('You'll Never Walk Alone' intro)

Ronny: Celtic is passion. If you don't show passion then you don't have any chance of being in the club. And I feel that we are a very good match.

Reporter: And now it smells of 'Walk on' with Ronnie at Celtic.

Ronny: I've feel we've only getting started at Celtic. It's a sleeping giant. Were I hope to be for many years, and that's the understanding I have; that Celtic also wants this.

Reporter: At a vacation before the last games of the scottish series, Deila can look back at his first year, were he's gone from this:

Guy in the pub (acting like a joker): I think I could do better than Ronny Deila. Haha!

Guy in the streets (serious): I think he'll go. He have to go.

    Reporter: To this:

    (Ronny Roar)

Ronny: They are thinking in the long run. Just hiring me; you have to have balls to do that.

Reporter: And now Deila reveils that the dream is one day to be in charge of Celtic in the Premier League.

Ronny: Now, they're already one of the 5-6 biggest clubs in the UK. But if we've gotten in the Premier League, I think they've could be one the biggest clubs in the world; maybe even the biggest/greatest.

Ronny: I've always been a 'builder'. That's what I love - To build that club as big and as good as it can be. That's the target.

As an active player in Norway he was like that, I've heard. He thinks a lot and he thinks big. He was more than an average defender. He is special. Celtic is lucky to have him because he's an unusual mentality. He may make mistakes but he learns quickly. That's what learning is and should be.

Looks like the Youtube user who's been posting the press conferences has been told to remove them. It's a shame really, I think there is a lot of interest in them and it would be better if they made them available for everyone.

I think that has been, for me, his most impressive attribute to date.

Despite what others personal opinions of individuals or formations is, I don't think he could be criticised for ever making the same mistake more than twice.

McGregor was in, scoring goals in Europe and playing well and became a focal point. His form dropped off then so did he.

Guidetti was banging them in left, right and centre then tapered off - he was benched and gradually brought back in.

He made wholesale changes a couple of times early on and it backfired as it stuttered our momentum and dropped the level of the entire team to such a point that we were dropping points.

Our defence was a gaping mess early on in European qualifiers and we were punished for it. We've went on to make our defence arguably the strongest part of the side.

I can think of numerous things he has done recently whilst we've been playing well which proves he has learnt from his early season mistakes. He has to be universally applauded for that.

Thought this was interesting from the Sutton interview:

"CS: Was there any stage in the season where you thoughts there was a turning point? A game, a moment? I know you said you were seeing progress but people on the outside aren’t party to that.

RD: I think the first game where I saw the team I like to see was the second half against Salzburg at home. Something happened, it was like we were pressured a lot but then suddenly we go for it and that gave them confidence that we could do it. That was an important game. I think also after the 1st January, after we started again, I went in to games I was thinking that we are going to win because our levels were so much higher than the beginning of the season."

Also thought this part was interesting:

CS: The Champions League next season. Do you feel you’re better prepared for it next season? The reality is Jason Denayer is going to go, Guidetti I don’t know and obviously Van Dijk… It’s going to be tough.

RD: But we are totally in a different situation now. I think we have a much stronger squad now, more togetherness and more consistency in what we are doing. Virgil Van Dijk is our player and we want to keep him here. Especially during the Champions League qualification. Jason is a young player but I think we can find a player who can do that or a player inside the squad who can do that job. Virgil is an important player because he has been a leader in the back four. Upfront, Guidetti hasn’t played every game. Lee has done well, and we can also use the window to get in some players. I think we have quite good control of the squad.

Weird, that Salzburg home game is also the first game I noticed the change in fitness. We were all over them for half of that game and looked quicker and more energetic all over the park.

I kinda thought that initially too, but I reckon it had more to do with the fact that Salzburg were quite comfortable because they stormed into an early 2 goal lead. I just thought then they were happy for us to have the ball, not commit too many men forward and see it out, but if possible, counter and try to kill the game stone dead. Which they did do late on.

To be fair, it was probably a combination of us becoming more confident about pressing teams high and fast and Salzburg mainly sitting deeper.

I want to play Legia, Maribor, Zagreb and Salzburg again to see how far we've really came :smiley-laughing002:
