I mean, you would get locked up..

Anyway I wouldn’t accept it either but I wouldn’t immediately turn to violence, especially given the context that it’s a comedian on a stage and my wife and I are in Hollywood.

He’s entitled to be upset and to respond but he’s a million miles away from being entitled to attack the guy.

I’m guessing if your attending these things with comedians hosting and you are up for an award etc then your expecting a bit of a ripping no? Thought these things would be rehearsed to death aswell.

Honestly I don’t think these things are rehearsed, at least not some of the comedians. I would’ve said they were but the Ricky Gervais stuff at the golden globes makes me think it can’t be. When he had a go at Tim Cook and Apple, there’s just no way that company would allow that.

He didn’t cover himself in glory by any means but I would be lying if I said I never initially laughed at a joke I didn’t like.

That said, a bit of an overreaction from him to say the least.

    * joke that was below the belt but you can’t just walk up and slap somebody ffs.
Saying that, I have doubts about how genuine the whole thing was. Chris Rock’s reaction to it didn’t seem to be one of shock or surprise.

Nobody here knows how they’d really react in that scenario tbh mate.

The whole room is sitting laughing at your family members condition and the lad on stage sitting grinning away, it would be hard to control your anger at that point imo.

Obviously he’d have been better to keep calm pull him up on it during the ad break or something and ask him to apologise but achh well.

Smith should've been escorted away and charged with assualt, made a right * of himself, swaggered up there like some sort of gangster, just came across as a horrible person.

Celebs get a roasting all the time, nothing new there, if it was a joke about someone else Smith himself would've been sittin there laughing at it no doubt.

Nobody is entitled to attack anyone but Will’s reaction isn’t an uncommon reaction to someone disrespecting a persons family member.

Most would probably go further than a wee slap.

He was definitely shaken up a bit. He didn’t really know what to say and * his next line.

I'm Team Will Smith here like, * spoke down to my loved ones I'd be jumping in about them. Never mind live in front of Millions.

The Oscars are so toxic now though, Pedophiles and beasts everywhere! All act like tories as well,

If the whole thing was genuine then I think he did extremely well to keep going and keep his composure to the degree that he did.
The joke wasn’t the best but Smith’s reaction was just bizarre. Laughing away one minute then out of control the next. Very, very strange incident.

It’s Will Smith shouting “keep my wife’s name out your mouth” which is the weirdest bit for me.

As if Chris Rock has said something before or he’s got this obsession with showing the world that they are married and getting on with it.

    I don’t know.

Btw I’m going bald and get slagged daily. I’m slapping some * tomorrow.
