    Sammy by a mile.

Maeda always gives 100% and we know he is a limited footballer but Sammy was technically brilliant and a game winner when he wanted to be, unfortunately it wasn’t as often as it should of been.

Maeda has speed and thats it,once in a while he does something right but 99.99% its just speed. Sammy maybe not as fast but more to his game, would replace Maeda with sammy any day of the week.

Aye, he was. Ntcham won us our first ever game on Italian soil and was better on a more consistent basis. Samaras was half arsed every other week.

Maeda is one of the least frustrating players I’ve watched as a Celtic fan of 40 years.

How can you be frustrated by a guy who never gives a single percent less than his all at all times.

Mainly due to his lack of technical ability and frequency of breaking down attacks.

Johnny Hayes gave his all too but was frustrating because of how * he was.

Samaras. At least he had the ability but zero consistency.

Maeda is a dog * footballer who relies on his energy and pace. The fact that essentially every single match you can rely on him to produce a “cross” like that one he hit out the stadium earlier on…

Because his technical ability is seriously poor.

All the focus is on his weaknesses by too many and completely glosses over what he does bring which is unique.

I find Liel Abada an infinitely more frustrating footballer than Maeda, as an example.

It’s not, at all, it’s just inconsistent.

His weaknesses often outshine his strenghts and there are far more of the former.

Abada is frustrating too and I'd move both on if we can, in the summer.

By the same token others may find Maeda more frustrating than Abada compared to you.

Noone can deny his work rate but he pretty much guarantees a shank out the park from a good area once or twice a game to break down an attack. That's what frustrates me.

I also agree that Abada is frustrating pretty much for the same reasons as Maeda tbh.

samaras was pure * the only frustrating thing was him playing ahead of mccourt or signing a proper winger

Totally different problems, Sammy could be lazy or at least he came across in some games that he couldn’t be arsed and then some games he could destroy teams on his own, as he did to the huns that memorable day at the bigotdome 2/1/2011.
Maeda is a bit like burke was, really fast with little actual control over his feet or the ball
Come the revolution and toto will be first put against a wall and shot for ghastly ‘music’?

Was about to like your post until I read the last sentence. You're never taking Toto down: there's nothing that 100 men or more could ever do to them.

    Samaras.

    * was * honking but never went away because of the odd bit of brilliance.

At least you know exactly what you’re getting with Maeda.

    Samaras.

Maeda is at least very consistent, especially in terms of work rate.

Samaras could probably have played for Real Madrid if he wanted. I'll never forget him against Barcelona, going by 4 and 5 guys like a gust of wind. He just picked and choosed his moments of when he could be arsed and when he couldn't. More often than not he couldn't be arsed. But we knew he had frightening ability in his locker.

Sammy had good games against the best in Europe, way better than Maeda
