I actually like Janko but I do think his speed probably gets him out of a fair few self inflicted problems. Def a player there though, just needs to bulk up (nah * not bulk up, that's what everyone usually says about our players, got carried away) just needs to buck up his ideas defensively.

    .

I think Boyata will come good.

    Efe will be moving on.

Simunovic when he recovers will no doubt play a role he did look decent when he did play

Sviatchenko can be a lil rough round the edges at times loses his man too often for my liking.

O'Connel may benefit from a loan for 6 months he needs games before featuring regularly for us.

I think lustig will be moving in to CB

I like this idea. I think Ajer has a lot of potential to develop as a good utility player. Apparently Ajer can play at both centre back and defensive midfield. I would like to see the Celtic coaches develop Ajer this season and for him to gradually transition into the first team. Perhaps Ajer could initially be used as an impact player from the bench with the occasional start in domestic competition. Ajer's 6"5 height should also be a real asset when covering defence as well as supporting set piece plays in attack.

I reckon Toure and Sviatchenko should be the regular first team centre back pairing this season with Simunovic, O'Connell and Ajer in reserve. Therefore I would definitely consider Ambrose and possibly Boyata as now surplus to requirement in defence. I would seek to move Ambrose or both on before this summer transfer window closes. Although if Rodgers sees potential for Boyata to improve then he should be retained and further developed.

Assuming Celtic qualify for the Champ League groups, I would also like to see a powerful, ball winning box to box midfielder signed this month. In time this could be Ajer but he is not yet ready. Additionally a more dynamic right back who would complement Tierney on the left side. Lustig could then be used mainly as an impact player to cover the right back position and if needed the right centre back when required. I have not yet seen enough in Janko to be convinced that he is a long term solution. I suppose if a better right back cannot be purchased at present, he should continue to be developed to see if he can become a long term solution.

So in summary, I think Celtic would benefit from purchasing a combative box to box midfielder as well as a more dynamic right back. Ajer should be developed as a utility player who would be able to play in defence and midfield. Sell Ambrose, and if Rodgers considers Boyata surplus to requirement, sell him too.

He is a Belgian international- one that is well ahead of Denayer in the pecking order who we all rate highly.

I've just checked out Boyata's wiki page and he may not be rated by Belgium quite so highly. To date Boyata only has 2 senior caps for Belgium and in his second match he came on as a substitute after 86 minutes for Jason Denayer. Therefore it appears that the Belgian national team rates Denayer higher.

Two central midfielders for me. So weak through the spine tonight.

It really bugs me when we sign players in their twilight years, it looks bad on the whole league but when you see how comfortable Tore is you wonder, is this the only way we can get someone in midfield who doesn't * it away in Europe, keeps calm and gives our forwards a break from living off scraps.

A DM who can organize when we lose possession is a must, at times when we lose the ball we have 3 mids chasing the ball leaving big gaps for teams to exploit
