Ah cool. Wasn't sure of anyone who plays them. If I had the cash the dream would be a '57 Tele yellow les paul Jr or an early butterscotch Tele. Only been lucky enough to play newer models.

I play but not very well,my four electric guitars are Gibson’s,a r7 gold top,a335,a double cut junior and a studio les Paul.
Just recently bought a Martin acoustic and gave my son my simon and patrick acoustic.
I mainly play rock and blues although when i want to rock out it’s normally punk type songs.
I recently tore a tendon in my left hand,so even strumming my new Martin and trying to play chords is painful just now.
Me and my son built a valve amp kit,a 5 watt head,i got two celestion greenback 12 inch speakers, and we built them into cabs, sounds alright for what it is.
Hopefully when my hand heals i can get back into practicing again.

Awesome post! That Gibson MIII looks cool as *! I’ve never seen one of those in person. I like the Ibanez as well...I’ve actually got back into Super Strats again lately. My first ever electric was an old Ibanez EX-360, made in the Korean Cort factory, and I learned how to play on that guitar. I recently picked up a new Ibanez Jem in “shocking pink” and an eying up one of the new Jackson Soloists. After years of playing heavier music through Les Pauls and Les Paul copies and SG’s, it’s nice to go back to the shredders.

@scuzzy, I still have that first Ibanez...it obviously dates back to when men’s hair was much bigger and longer, lol

This is the Ibanez Jem I picked up recently...am going to order a custom swirly pickguard from Korea for it (because that’s what you do with Jems). Next to it is a BC Rich Bich that I modded with high output Dragonfire pickups (Seymour Duncan Invader clones) and next to that is an Agile AL-20000 Les Paul clone that I modded with old school Carvin M22 pickups (love Carvin pickups).

I’m really thinking about selling some more gear to create funding to pick these two up:

Schecter Sun Valley Shredder a Sustainiac humbucker in the neck...I played this thing and it’s absolutely killer.

I loved this Jackson Soloist in Kawasaki green...a blast to play.

Cool! I never got into building amps...the most I do is biasing them and changing valves...I guess I have a very real fear of touching charged capacitors!

You’ve got some quality guitars, R7 GT is a fine, fine guitar, and a 335 is one I’ve always wanted...I’ve made do with Epiphone Sheratons and Rivieras to scratch the 335 itch, but an actual Gibson 335 would be nice!

@Sporting CP Bhoy HAHAHA yeah em I had the long hair, eventually cut it off then 2 weeks later got asked to join a rock band..pfft typical, after that the * thing never grew back, these days i got more hair comin out me nose and me fekkin ears than i have on my heid (one is not amused :).
Hey i wonder if i should try touching a charged amp capacitor...maybe my hair will grow back :56:

As regards the Jems I tried a few times with them but they just didn't feel right to me for some reason i dunno why, just felt weird to play, string tension was always really tight and felt like the strings were gonna snap if i did any bending (But i do love that pink one there - SLURP -)
BTW hold off on buying the swirl scratch plate, I have one here, never used, i bought it coz i was convinced i was gonna buy a jem but know now i never will, i never really liked the shape of the JS1200 but "she !!" liked the colour of it so i said ok lemmie try it then and i have to say, it's the most comfortable guitar i've ever felt hugs the body amazing, so after that it was on my "you shall be mine" list. SO if you want the swirl plate for your jem you can have mine free if you like it, I'll put a pic of it up in a few and see if ye like the look of it, I know swirls are quite a personal thing for everyone. Also the plate itself is not actually swirled, it's basically a clear, see through plate with a swirl sticker on the back.

LOL my go-to guitar and for gigging is also a BC Rich but a Warlock with the black widow headstock ye know the one that opens beer bottles ... it's heavily customised, super shaved fret dress so low you hardly need to touch it to get it to fret could practically blow on it and it'll fret, it's loaded with an Ibanez Fred in the neck and an SD HM Livewire II in the bridge (18 volt jobbie). I got 2 jacksons a Dinky DK2S with the sustainiac pup with a custom neck and a Dinky XL.

As regards any LP type of guitar I use my handbuilt Gordon Smith basically an LP junior, awesome to play too.

Got a David Gilmour Copy Fender Strat (black).....stunning guitar,my pride and joy.

Also have a Epiphone ej200 ce Acoustic.

Sold my Fender Mustang 3 last week though and bought a set of Audio Monitors,i run all my guitars through a scarlett 2i2 interface, this in turn runs programs like Guitar Rig 5 etc......Sounds amazing, especially when emulating Floyd/Acdc/Stones etc.

All above equipment are stunning to me.

Oh my goodness...we’re on a lot of the same pages here....

Will post pics of the rest of my BC Rich’s! I’ve got a red Warlock too!

Now, I am absolutely interested in the Jem scratchplate! Just two things, my Jem is an Indo made Jem Jr. not a Japanese Jem...do you know if that plate would fit a Jem Jr.? and I’m in Boston, in the US...but I can gladly pay for shipping. That plate would look killer on my Jem and it makes for a great story! :60:

Also, love the 7 string ESP.

Hmm I honestly couldn't tell you if it would fit the Jem junior, I'm sorry I can't even recall where i got the * thing, all i know is it was online.
I dunno if it would even be worth the cost for you to ship it if it won't fit,
whereas you may get a korean one that you know will fit.
Update: just found where i got it...LOL would you believe i bought it from a guy in Nesconset N.Y. for $22.50, that was the total price including shipping.

yeah i was gonna get the scarlett 2i2, i was on the lookout for a new interface for my studio, my 1st interface was the wee Native Instruments Guitar Rig mobile (about the size of a * packet) tiny wee thing, it was ok and came with Guitar rig 3 i think it was, but the headphone/speaker was a stereo out socket (1 only) so it was pretty useless to set up monitors with it, I ended up going for the big RME fireface 802 with loads of ins and outs.

I've not got much in the way of gear left. Sold most of it as wasn't getting used.

Had a Marshall JCM 800 combo. And an all white Strat with Rosewood neck that i both sold to the same guy. Only two items of gear i regret selling to this day. Moved house from a farm in the middle of nowhere to a two up two down in the middle of town so the 800 was far too * loud.
I bought various small solid state amps and pretty much got rid of them straight away - they always sound better in the shop. Fenders, Marshall, Line 6 etc.
Now i just noodle with the cans on through a Line 6 POD 2. It's not great but i can make myself deaf and no-one has cause for complaint.

Have had loads of guitars through the years - Telecasters, SG, Strats etc.

I currently have a Tokai Les Paul copy. Sounds like the real thing but * kills my back as it's so heavy.
An Epiphone Casino which i love the sound of and it weighs * all.
And a Epiphone DR-100 acoustic which honestly i rarely play.

@Senna s1979 LOL i know what you mean about the LP copies, i tried my friends early Gibby LP standard this was before they started to cut relief holes in the body wood to reduce weight. I couldn't believe how heavy it was, I had it on less than 5 mins and it was killing my shoulder and back fekk playing a whole gig standing up with it.
Ohh and if anyone is near clydebank and is interested in a wee early xmas pressie for themselves I saw a Gibby SG in the * shop today for £259, well worth that price :)

Love the black Gimour Strat, that should be your pride and joy!

I’m in process of at least making a Strat that looks like a Gimour...I sourced a very reasonably priced Squier Vintage Modified 70’s Strat and am swapping out the pickups to some Dimarzios and will be utilizing white pick up covers to make it look the part...unfortunately the headstock is of the large 70’s CBS variety and it has a three ply pickguard with white trim. To make it really look like a Gilmour, I would need a small, 50’s style headstock and a single ply, all black guard, but this is close enough for the time being. It has a really nice neck though. Would love to see a pic of your Strat!

Here’s what if will look like approximately after the pickup swap:

That’s a great price for an SG!
