The huns wont vanish they will just go into administration with hard financial restraints until they have recovered and probably cleared up the HMRC case.

it is a good question really, what does our or even scottish football's future hold without the "mighty Gers"?. personally i believe it is all down to how the SFA or whoever else it that deals with marketing of league and how they can reshape the nations game, something of which they have been trying to do for while now.

if they play it right i really don't think it is that difficult to model the league and the grassroots of scotlands game only problem is that they would need to invest heavily in such a transformation, for me a good way of improve the standard of football seen in our league would be to focus on our home grown talent which if it were to work would likely see them sold off to other leagues in the short term while if it the constant churning of players continued we would slowly be able to retain them as they would be playing in league that has quality players and provides a decent challenge.

for celtic again if in the case rangers were to go disappear i feel we could milk it and look at our own personal avenues of selling out club as 1 and not having them attached.

also what a lot of other people outside of scottish need to remember if rangers were to go bust is that it looks like pompey are following suit again but manily they should all be looking at the court case because as soon as the verdict is out and HMRC win they will royally * over all the other clubs who used to exact same method to tax evade which in the grander scheme of things their bills will be 10x bigger then rangers'.

in short however the league will suffer at first but aslong as celtic and SFA look at ways to take advantage and re model and sell it well enough it would be a mear * in the armour.

without them i believe Scottish football will flourish as other clubs will have an oportunity to close the gap on us. some would say celtic will win the league by 25 points every year......firstly...without Rangers taking 12 points off of any of our rivals this gap would immediatly be slashed........many Rangers fans would undoubtedly follow another club....thus bringing added revenue to those clubs, which in turn would allow those clubs to invest. There also seems to be anb argument that there would be no tv money without Rangers involvement....once again id argue that that in turn would force a guy who may normally tune into a computer thread or a tv package to actually go and attend a game. when either side of glasgows big two clubs are having poor seasons does the league stop and say this is pish...no another contender awakens and challenges......in the eighties we had a strong aberdeen and Utd whilst rangers were in slump and in the nineties Hearts were up their challenging whilst celtic were in slump. like i always say when one of our celtic heroes leave the club......another hero will arrive and celtic will move on....we done it when kenny, charlie, Pierre & henrik left.......we will survive alongside a moe competitive SPL without Rangers.

As some of you have said Rangers won't go bust, & this Whyte character contrary to what their fans are saying could do very well for them.

Going into Administration means paying your creditors less and actually there are other teams in Scotland owed money by them who will be very worried now.

With their luck they could emerge stronger, while other clubs in Scotland could suffer.

One thing that worries me if rangers die, is that we could play our reservs and still win the league. And if we dont continue to strenghten we will get completely owned in the EL/CL, which will also result in the death of Celtic FC. And imagine how pumped the other dud teams that has a chance of getting 2nd in the league will be in europe and what that would do with the status of our league. Unfortunally the reputation "The Old Firm" has outside scotland is what make this league quite intresting for much people.

I don't think we should look at our future as having anything to do with Rangers.

I agree that there's going to be a lot lost from this league should they disappear but we should be looking at a solution to that problem not sitting about worrying "what if".

I detest the idea of no Old Firm game but the bottom line is that they have to pay for their crimes. If they aren't punished for cheating it would be an absolute disgrace so the loss of those games may have to be the price we pay for justice.

As always, grass roots is the key. SPL TV channel to start with (telling Sky to keep their pittance) and we need to really include the other SPL clubs. Fairer TV revenue for them will create more competition and youth players not going to Rangers would improve their squads too.

We shouldn't be looking to jump ship to the ELP. We should be taking the lead in improving our league. It was impressive once, it can be again.

I don't think Rangers will disappear, but they're will be a few tough seasons ahead for them.
Without european football & a ban on incoming transfers, I think they will be forced to sell any player with a good sell on value, McGregor, Davis, Naismith, Whitaker maybe Lafferty.

Rangers will probably struggle for a few seasons, but I would still expect them to be in the top 6, what it does do is give a few teams the chance to possibly get european football at their expense, having said that, most Scottish teams in europe are dreadful & reflect badly on us.

Maybe we should build statues of David Murray & * Advocatt near celtic park, can't think of anyone else that has inflicted greater damage to our arch rivals than these two!!:)

Loving that karma has finally caught up with the Orcs, & loving the irony that they have been singing * Save The Queen for decades.................

Im afraid thats just wishful thinking on your part. The situation you described would only happen if both us and rangers ceased to exist.

The reality is that the league would be become a one horse race, i dont think the diddies will flock back in numbers to see this, certainly not in the numbers you described.

Personally I think we need a strong rangers (not as strong as us obv) and the emergence of a third team to challenge for the spl to build its reputation. A better more competitive spl would inject money and interest back into our game meaning we will be able to sign better players.

As it stands I think Rangers will survive but will be feeling the effects of this for years to come.

Funnily enough i remember being so frustrated as a wee guy when rangers would be signing players left right and centre and we were known as a biscuit tin club. How times have changed. :shamrock:

Agreed, Souness also came out and said his opinions, which were along the same lines. They'll still be here, they'll just be more of a pushover than we have been used to. Here comes our 9IAR, followed by several more after that!! GIRFUY dirty Huns!!

Why do they turn up at cup finals then? Where do the wee teams get these fans from?

You're kidding yourself if you think clubs wont get a boost through the gates if they are chasing a CL or EL spot.

They will get a boost but that boost will only compensate for lost revenue from T.v deals and other areas of revenue. I just don't think fans will come flooding back in huge numbers just because Rangers won't be there.

    Life without Rangers?

Rangers have now entered administration and are getting closer to liquidation this would mean they could never come back unless they started all over again so what would life really be like without ranger????
possible move to the English league??
