See we are seeded for Last 32 which means, unless the teams come to an agreement to switch, Celtic will be away for 1st leg on 20th Feb and at home for 2nd leg on 27th Feb

Current seeded teams, which mean we will avoid them are:
    Sevilla
    Espanyol

so no Spanish teams so far for us with possible exception of Getafe and from CL, Atletico Madrid and Valencia who we will probably avoid even if they are knocked out of CL,with them probably being seeded.

Having not won a post-Xmas European knock-out tie since 2003 (?), we could really do with an easy tie to get that monkey off our back. A decent last 16 tie as well and then you have all the momentum. I think momentum is one of the biggest factors once you get to knockout football regardless of who you are playing. You could end up drawing a top team in the Quarter Final but you would have the confidence that we can do something.

Aye, I'm defos getting ahead of myself but you feel that this is a good chance to do a bit of damage in Europe. An ideal world would be drawing Malmo and playing at home in the 2nd leg. A bad outcome would be potentially playing one of the German teams (Wolfsburg or Leverkusen) and playing away second leg due to pandering to the Huns (if they win their group too). Don't know how the rules work on that as I'm sure we can't both play in Glasgow on the same night.

If that were to happen more likely one game would be moved to a Wednesday rather than making us play at home in our 1st leg.

Not sure about the advantage of playing at home 2nd. The only tie we got knocked out in this year we played home 2nd and every tie on the run to Seville we played at home first. I think knowing what you have to do in the away tie and not playing in front of a nervy home crowd can help. Hard to work out the stats because the seeded teams are usually away first so will skew the figures in their favour. Better for the fans to have the home game 2nd cos it's more exciting to see the conclusion of the tie.

If results go expected next week the CL teams we could draw are:

    Dinamo Zagreb
    Club Brugge
    Red Star Belgrade
    Bayer Leverkusen
Leverkusen would be a nightmare, other 3 I think we could edge, RS's home form is generally good though, beat Liverpool last season.

Along with in the EL groups (result prediction)

    Apoel Nicosia
    Malmo | Dynamo Kyiv
    Getafe
    LASK
    Frankfurt | Liege | Arsenal
    Ludogorets
    Wolfsburg
    Borussia Mönchengladbach | Basaksehir
    Braga
    AZ Alkmar

And if the tie goes to ET, advantage of home crowd, disadvantage if the opposition score one, we effectively have to score two to go through, which I think is wrong in so may ways.

No easy draw in there but also none are impossible. Obviously a couple you would want to avoid but after our heroics in the groups stages we are capable of turning over any of them.

    Would like Wolves personally.
