    Eight groups are made up of four teams - one from each of the four pots. Teams from the same country cannot be drawn against each other.

    Teams play each other home and away over six Match Days, starting on 18/19 September and climaxing on 11/12 December.

    Clubs have been assigned pairings to ensure they play on different days. The British clubs are paired as follows: Manchester United/Liverpool; Arsenal/Chelsea; Celtic/Rangers.

    Sevilla and AEK Athens are both in the draw after their second leg was postponed following the death of Antonio Puerta. The Spanish side lead 2-0.
