A can tell you right now, Mayweather will not knockout Paquiao. That much I am certain off. If he wins it'll be on points.

Yep:50: Floyd's bottle was the cause of that.

This 5, 6 or 10 years too late pish is a nonsense. They are still the 2 best boxers at their weight class in the World and by a margin.

Can't even have 2 of the best boxers going at it (for a change) without * moaning about it :56:

Aye? You say Pacman has declined more yet apart from the brutal KO from Marquez he has been untouchable for a decade. The Bradley decision remains utterly ridiculous to this day.

Mayweather on the other hand struggled with Maidana for a large chunk of their first fight and has shown chinks in his armour. Pacman has a similar style to Maidana but has far more class and experience.

Should they have met a while ago? Aye. Does that make this fight any less intriguing? Absolutely not.

Your kidding yourself on if you don't think this fight would of been more intriguing 6yrs ago:smiley-laughing002: Your trying to tell me this fight between these two fighters, albeit even though there still the two best is just as intriguing now as it would of been if both were still in there prime? Behave!

Maidana is bigger than Pacquiao so could use his weight and push Floyd onto the ropes and unleash some shots, he got a lot of success in the early rounds like that. Paquiao doesn't have that weight advantage he'll will fight with quick in and out counter punches.

Just as I'm writing this Sugar Ray Leonard is on Sky Sports saying this fight should of happened at least 5 years ago as well:smiley-laughing002:

Aye, I feel the same, they could have fought when both in their prime and it would have proved for sure who was better but now they are older, id say not as good as they were 5 years ago, it wont really prove anything, what would have happened in 2010 will remain a what if.

Better late than never but far too late to muster up the excitement of them at their bests. If it was 5 years ago everyone would be buzzing about it from now until then and it'd probably be the two best boxers to have met each other possibly in our lifetimes.

No one is disputing when it should have happened, myself included.

It is no less intriguing though. In fact given the fact the heavyweight division is entirely void of any decent matches and the other divisions are not far off it, just now the entire World of boxing needs this fight more than it ever has at any point in the last decade.

    It won't really prove anything.

    Aye :52:

Will prove who is better when they are old but we'll still never know how it would have gone at their bests.

Its more like when Tyson fought Lewis, when Lewis was probably at his best and Tyson about 10 years past his, interesting but we'd never know how prime Tyson would have done against prime Lewis, same with these two even though they were in their primes at the same time, its just not close what it could have been.

Even if it was only 2 years ago it happened it wouldnt have been so bad but it was left for far too long.

Lennox Lewis is older than Tyson, you can't just make up hypothetical matches when guys were in what you consider to be their prime in hindsight.

There are boxers that peaked at 21 and boxers that peaked mid-30's. That's life, the perfect storm will never ever happen.

This fight is huge, the biggest in history and this talk of their age diminishing its importance will look laughable when the PPV buys and their purse is tallied up.

I'd say it's pretty clear they were both better 5 year ago than now though. It's still big obviously as they are the two biggest names in boxing and have been for a decade but not the same greatness about it if it had happened in 2010 or 2011, when both were around their peaks in terms of speed and stamina with good experience behind them and in great form.

Why didn't they try and get a stadium for the fight instead of an arena in Vegas

Mayweather is contractually obliged to fight in the MGM.

    Too tough to call.

My heart wants Paccy to lay Floyd out, but my head says that Floyd will slip and block all night and pinch it on points.
