This. I've been watching boxing for the best part of 30 years and I've never in all my time heard two commentators who were so far off the pace of what was going on. They were talking complete * from the opening bell. Every punch Groves landed they were pointing out and missed most of Froch's.

That was a close fight. Two cards had it 76-75 which should tell Watt in particular that he has no * idea at all of what is going on in front of him.

Saying that, it is also the worst refereeing performance I think I have ever seen. The stoppage was farcical but it should be noted that three times previously, he stepped in and saved Groves taking punishment.

I had Groves just ahead but the amount of total crap they talk on TV is beyond embarrassing. I usually watch with the sound down when Watt is on but left it on cos the bird was watching as well. I said repeatedly to her during it that they hadn't a clue what was going on and I think I was right.

Ref should never have stopped that although it did look like groves wasnt defending himself and his head had dropped pretty sure froch would have finished him within that round there isnt really any coming back from that but the ref should definately wait until its a certainty its unlikely that groves would recover but think you need to be sure.

That is the worst decision I've saw from a ref, disgraceful.

 

Never knew Manny Pacquiao was fighting tonight! I fell asleep after the football and woke up just before the boxing so I'll be up for that!

I somehow read that to be they said the ref should have stopped it. Missed an obvious key word.

That said, not one person agrees with the stoppage.

 

Froch is taking a lot of stick, but he just did his job... he didn't make the decision. The fact he got booed is a disgrace. As mental as Groves getting booed before hand.

 

Shows how many * 1 day fans have turned out tonight..

All supporting froch at the start,gets battered and nearly stopped early on and loses nearly every round till the 9th and still comes back with heavy bangs and the red steps in yet he gets booed..
Utter *,boxing fans..

Pretty much sums up my thoughts on the stoppage. For a top level sport with millions on the line boxing is so * amateurish at times

 

My experioence of big fights like that is the majority will be football fans. The casuals fans turn up in droves for big fights.

 

Who said that? As I mentioned earlier, it is one of the worst refereeing performance I have ever seen and the irony was that his wrong decisions usually favoured Groves until that ludicrous stoppage.

 

It was a disgrace of a decision, worst ive seen in any sport. Last time I mind one as bad was when Klitschko was stopped against Lewis because a cut even though it didnt seem that bad and Klitschko was winning.

Haye-millwall
Mitchell-west ham
Barker-Chelsea
Macklin-Birmingham

Loads more by the way but that's just a few off the head..

Still * though,that's like going to watch celtic and us not performing and cheering Aberdeen when we score a dodgy penalty that the ref gave..

Bitter sweet taste left after that because of the red,I know what I thought wa gonna happen but we should have been able as paying viewed to see for ourseoves..
