Grand old team to play for
Interesting in the press conference today, Brendan asked about his involvment in recruitment and the strategy. He said:

"The guys that are currently here have worked tirelessly on identifying targets and players that can fit into the model here. It is through no want of trying. Once those guys go through that list of players who fit into the profile of how we want to work that will then come to me to ratify the player that we would want and then that will go forward to the board to look to do the deal. That's how it works."

Interesting that he said it gets passed on to the board to try and do the deals rather than mentioning Nicholson and McKay by name like he has done in the past. I might be reading too much into it, but it feels like he's hinting that the Chairman of the Board is involved in doing the deals.

Also worth pointing out that before that he said that the recruitment structure will be getting looked at. And he has mentioned a couple of times that the recruitment team are working really hard, but he's never given them and other kind of praise. Never said they're doing a great job. Never said they're top guys. Nothing at all beyond they're working hard and trying. Sounds like the recruitment team needs some quality additions with pace and power.

Just watched that press conference, pretty hard hitting and straight to the point I reckon. Brendan’s well and truly called them out.
Got the fire in his belly. Let’s see if the rats give him what he/we want

Think that presser was * exceptional IMO. He has backed the board major, sang there praises, put his neck out by saying confident they’ll deliver what he wants… quality and finishing the window stronger than last season.

They need to deliver that now, Rodgers has absolutely backed them majorly publicly after a summer of saying they’re same page daily meetings.

That’s up there with Ange after Midtjalynd or however thats spelt

Just wish we could be taken over by someone with some ambition to move us forward. Stagnated for years

    Rodgers isnt stupid.

He's basically said "we told THE BOARD what we want. Its up to them.

So thats a bypass on Nicholsen etc. its the board ie. * Peter Lawwell thats negotiating.

I couldnt have asked for more tbh. Hes landed them right in the * with the "we've done our job, but we have to wait on "the board" doing theirs".

    Very cute from Rodgers.

Now let's get these * parasites out of our club.

Genuinely don’t believe it’s about ambition with them.

If we were taken over by someone who knows how to run a football club, we’d be a far more ambitious outfit.

Watching Celtic trying to sign somebody is like watching * "A place in the sun" Low offers knocked back then counter offer after counter offer going in till hopefully we get there.

Think we'll be ok in the end but by * the board need reminding that the season started nearly 4 weeks ago

Honestly cannot belive the way our board operates. They get away with murder just because they got money in the bank but there has to be balance between profit and having the best outfield team possible.

Got a terrible memory but when I think of some of the players we missed out on for not pushing the boat that little extra. Mcginn, hickey and Fletcher are the ones that immediately come to mind. Id imagine worst case scenario that £12m would have secured them 3, for the values being published at the time atleast.

How many more will we miss out on?

I see some on here saying they wouldn't go for lennon miller but I just don't get that at all. Probably the next big thing coming out of the league and £5m would easily do it. £5m out of our £100m in the bank - it's a sensible gamble. Honestly would be surprised if in a year or two he goes elsewhere and we will, once again reflect on a player we could have had for a decent price.- that isn't to say I think we need another midfielder cus we probably don't but any promising talent in Scotland should be with us before teams outside our league take notice

The McGinn debacle was probably the worst transfer blunder this board have ever made.

I say "blunder", when in reality, it was just plain ignorance. And arrogance.

Whilst Lawwell was arguing over pennies with a wallet full of 100 pound notes, Villa took McGinns da golfing to delay the deal to scrape up the actual asking.

Think about THAT. We had their asking fee 20 times over sitting in the bank. Villa had to scrape it together to afford him.

We know these rats will never change and it's all dividends and profit for these unambitious rats .
It's like Rogers in the sea shouting for a lifebouy from drowning and these * on the board have threw him a giant boulder instead * unforgivable from them .
We have had months to prepare striking targets but the board have went * it we are not beating Munich over 2 legs and we have enough lead in the league to win it .
Other clubs must be * thinking we are not a serious European club if we are selling our star striker in January and bringing no replacement in .
