I cant stand the site of Volter Schmit. He makes me physicaly sick just to mention his name. However it is without question he has produced a winning team for the SPL.

Time will tell if WGS and his players are up for the challenge.By * I realy hope they are.

Lucas Neil is apparently earning £80k per week at West Ham. We can't compete with those wages - and he is a * player never mind a top player.

Sheffield United are paying Beattie £40k per week.

We cannot afford the top players, the standard of player required to win the CL.

Lucas Neil is not worth 80 quid a week never mind 80K over inflated wages from a mad scandi so as to stop the player from joining Liverpool.James Beattie you sure Sheffield Utd are paying 40K?.Sounds a bit steep for a championship club.

Anyhow Martin I am not saying we can win the CPL what I am saying is we should be able to put a competative side out on the park who are capable of producing the odd upset wich also should be able to make life a * site more dificult for teams than we are currently doing.

Time will tell' about 2 months I reckon and all the fans will want him out,
I placed hard earned cash on celtic winning in nou camp, my son came in and I told him his bet was on, then we heard the team news.

He said "oh no wish I knew that before I put cash on them' I thought celtic would really go for this"

I said this Cnuts not going for this he has excepted defeat before the game has started and is trying for damage limitation.

Every fan must have felt the same that we were beat before the game started after the team news was announced and totally baffled by it.

I dont mind losing but losing after not even trying turns my guts, never ever have I saw this from celtic before.

And I was not surprised that STV team talked of damage limitation at half time, and after match report it was plan to get to 0-0 at half time, now imagine if we had managed that, that means we need to come out and get 2 goals in the second half and stop barca from scoring.

So we would have made our work double hard in half the time, AND THIS WAS A TACTIC, someone taking the *.

So if rangers beat us watch our manager praise certain rangers players and say my players need to show that level of commitment.

Strachan know what he will say pre match at his post match press conference because he has made celtic results predictable and knows the outcome before the game starts, This time we all knew the outcome before the barca match

It took AC Milan extra time to put us out over two legs before they went on to win it. That's making it pretty difficult for them.

The most successful clubs in European football are the richest ones. There is no denying it. Real Madrid and AC Milan are probably the two most successful teams in European competition. It is not a coincidence that they are very, very rich.

Doc why not create a fantasy thread. Where we have a world class manager and 22 world class players who will steam roller all before them.:84::84:

Smith has had to rebuild his reputation with Scotland and Der Hun. Yes he has turned them into winning team, but even the most rabid huns are unimpressed by their teams style of play at times. They are hard to break down but not as creative as us IMO.

And it shouldn't be forgotten that he was drummed out of Mordor last time round for complete failure in 1998. A fact conveniently overlooked by the laptop loyal and even some Celtic fans.

He hasn't won anything 2nd time round yet, and yes he did win trophies first time but he was up against some * Celtic teams so those titles don't count. That's how it works isn't it?

    Strachan wins.

Currently Doc both teams are playing un-attractive football. The only diference I can see is exactly what you say the huns are harder to beat and this is a winning formula over the course of a season.

The huns play power football perfect for the SPL but * dire to watch. We are trying to play attractive football but are failing miserably (at this time)so we are equaly as dire to watch but unlike the Huns we are not as consistant.

    Wich would you prefer.?

Actually both teams are showing remarkable consistency, they've won 10 on the bounce but can't shake us off because we're on a 9 game winning streak.

totally agree with that statement, can we compete with the above teams ,yes, we have and beat a few of them ,but when it gets down to the nitty gritty have a look what teams are left in the euro cup ,mostly all the big earners

Long may our winning streak continue.

Doc talking with your head and not your heart.

1.Can you see us continuing to be as consistant.?

2.Can you see us turning the Huns over at least twice and not loosing the third game.?

As currently and if I am honest for a long time mow I have had severe doubts.

I started the thread and was intersted to hear the replies

I think strachan is still learning, he has spent big money but we do not have a solid team. MON would eat this rangers team alive even without our inherited world class striker henril larsson.

    1. YES. Don't see any reason why not, we've tightened up at the back (in the SPL) and with Skippy and Samaras in form we're looking dangerous up front.

    2. YES. Why not? They can be got at if we approach the games with the right attitude. It may not even be necessary to beat them twice. In my experience when a championship is this tight there are always a few unexpected twists and turns before the end.

Finally, and this is just a personal thing. But watching Celtic is more of a joyous experience for me. I don't want to get all spiritual or * like that but I try not to over analyse the game and certainly don't get in a sweat over upcoming games. It would ruin my buzz. I just enjoy going no matter the current circumstances. I hope you catch my drift.

Yes we have beat teams at home but never away from home and if you look at the agregate scores we are beat 95% of the time.So to me this is not competing.

Yes we have qualified for the last 16 in the CPL the last two years. However this gives us a false impression of our side. As Celtic Park helps our side raise their level and produce some fantastic performances.

I hope your conidence becomes a reality and I certainly get your drift perhaps this is the reason why we dont see eye to eye on many things. As I am always looking for the answer to improve rather than to not to analyse things and accept what maybe iswrong in the hope it may turn round like you say you do.If you get my drift.

With regards to twists and turns I am of the same opinion we will have some dodgie results and so will the Huns. However I cant see them being to many and IMO whoever wins the Old Firm games will win the league.Unfortunately at this time using my head I see it being a major struggle for us to beat them.

    what im saying is

we have more money to spend (we should have a better squad)
the better squad of players (if correctly selected)
the more intimidating home stadium (if used right)

we should be winning the league by a canter and destroying teams in the spl every week
