It's one thing talking about them, but i get the impression that people are relieved because the scum are still in these competitions. We should be in the position that even if the scum had been knocked out of all competitions and we were still in them all, we'd still be confident of taking the title.

No worries mate.. Part of being in an us and them situation is that we all take pleasure from them getting humped , obviously not as much as we get pleasure from our own team winning but can't deny it's satisfying to see them take a fall..

None of us actually believe the huns can win the UEFA cup so its okay for them to get another couple of fixtures.. Look at the top 4 English clubs , every year they get talked up as going for the quadruple and in the last 30 years or whatever it is , only one team has won a european competion and won the league in the same year (Man Utd).. Im enjoying the way the huns are being touted as contenders on all fronts because it will gradually go from challenging in 4 competitions to 3 and then to 2 (they might wiin the league cup) and then it will just be them and us for the title.. There's no worries from me anyway and seeing them go 3 years without a trophy while we retain our title is something I think is a real possibility..

Your first point is flawed it is a fact that MON was linked amongst the front runners for any job that was made available while Celtic Manager.Something WGS can never say likewise.

Also it is without little doubt that MON would have continued his success at Celtic as his managerial career wherever he has been has been successfull.Again is that something WGS could say.

WGS has spent 35 million plus.

MON spent around 25 million.Again your comparison is not correct.

*, i'll spell it out for you.
I made the original comment about the milan game.
You asked me to qualify my opinion on that game, the game to which i'm refering.
You then come back later in the thread with a ps. asking me about it.

If you assumed that i was refering to the last 16 game, then you have came to the wrong conclusion.

If you now want to discuss the last 16 game, fine, just read back the posts and admit your error.

Also * the last 16 game at CP finished 0-0 not 1-0.

Smith has been in management before GS had ginger pubes.

    Very tough comparison to make.

The end of the season will decide this argument.
Smith inherited from *, a side utterly dominant in Scotland, he spent on a par with europe's elit, and failed miserably apart from one decent campaign (the one where they played leeds).
Wim saw him off in one season.
He then takes Everton a top 6 approx club and turns them into relegation battlers, before he is punted.
He then takes up hillwalking, or in other words can't find employment.
    In step the SFA.
He manages to improve, consolidate and fortify the national team much to the surprise of, well everyone.
He returns to his club, and with the same defensive tactics, manages to turn around the massive deficit against us into a 4 point advantage.

If he wins the league, then he is obviously the best of the two, how high a compliment that would be is debatable.
He has learned a lot from failure, of that i think there is no doubt, but even if he does win the league, the real test will be if he comes up against a more astute opponent in the following season.
If he doesn't, and Gordi wins the league then there will be no question who is the better manager, and even i will concede GS's CV is now impressive, although i will still detest him and his brand of football, as with sir watty.

this is just nitpicking and attacking WGS from every angle for no reason...his comments are fair enough...this european season has been another success

The Hun are having a good UEFA Cup but we've still to play the 3 times and we will win all three. I think we're a better, more balanced team since January and we haven't even played Mizuno yet. No worries.

    GORDON STRACHAN

unbelievable the amount of gash i have read about WGS from the anti WGS brigade. these are the people still livin in the nostalgia of MON and Henke...great times but dont forget what a GREAT job WGS is doing at this football club.

    a) overall his transfer dealings have been excellent. look at boruc, naka, mcdonald...three absolute COUPS at the prices we paid, the values of Mcdonald, Boruc and Scott Brown have increased massively under WGS leadership. JVOH has been an excellent signing for us also...i believe 50 in 90 odd is his GS record. His development of Mcgeady has been brilliant. Maciej Zurawski was a good player instrumental in his first season, and for 10 grand a week, was a good buy overall. Hinkel looks a good buy. Donati has played well up until recently, his goal the only reason we got to play Barca.

    b) He has won back to back championships.

    c) He has got us to the chamions league second round twice in a row, beating Milan, Man u etc along the way.

    d) the financial position of the football club has improved massively through his purchase of the BEST far eastern player, helping with shirt sales, brand, and on the pitch massively....im sure business guru PL told him to sign a japanese player.....and WGS done his homework, scouted well to find the brilliant Naka, plus the CL money WGS has bought in...

    e) he has acheived more in his first seasons at the club than MON did.

Sorry he isnt irish, isnt a masive celtic man, and im sorry he speaks his mind. I really cant belive u lot slagging WGS after the job he has done.

    b)
