I was at the cup final in 2005, a week after black Sunday at Fir Park and it was like a wake.

Terrible game, terrible atmosphere, terrible deflected Thompson goal won it .. left as soon as the team came off the steps, I don't think the Celtic support held a song for more than 30 seconds the entire game.

Was MON's last game as manager.

As other's have said, I've been at a few dull old firm games for atmosphere through the years, I recall a 2-0 defeat in 2005 and a 0-0 in 2006 where it was really flat throughout.

I blame the early kick offs, half the crowd are still asleep.

That's a good point, and there's no doubt about it - a night-time game at Parkhead is the ultimate football occasion.

I live just 7 miles from Parkhead, yet if I want a decent *-up before the game for a 12:30pm kick off, I need to get up at like 9 in the morning.

    * knows what time some of the more far-flung fans need to get up at to get to the game.

Early kick offs have killed old firm games for years.

The only one I would say that I've left the ground feeling let down was a 0-0 draw with DUTD at Parkhead in 2008. It was a midweek game just before the Hoops went on their winning streak, which ended up being what we needed to do to win 3IAR. In the closing stages of that game, alot of the crowd were chanting 'Strachan, Strachan, Get ti F*ck!' over & over again. Although I was never a great admirer of WGS' tactics, I thought that was poor & felt disappointed by the fans.

It didn't matter on February 20 2011, I was completely sober but for the entire 2nd half was jumping about like Krusty the Clown on steroids. :50:

Celtic 0-1 Motherwell with the away side playing with 10 men for an hour or so...* awful and indeed "Strachan Strachan get to *" was sung loudly amongst a minority of idiots. Not to say I wasn't * because I was convinced the huns would stroll to a treble and possible quadruple - altho they were never going to win the UEFA Cup - but Strachan certainly proved everyone wrong.

I live just 1 miles from CP and woke up late for the last game of the season :56:

Was getting millions of missed calls and texts saying "HURRY THE * UP!" so sprinted to parkhead still trying to put my clothes on and not fully awake.

Maybe that was why the atmosphere was * that day, sorry lads - all my fault!

Nothing worse than walking up the steps inside Paradise and hearing a massive cheer, that day vs Hearts I missed the 1st two goals and remember missing our only goal vs Udinese last season as well :52::56:

That time we played a friendly in space was the worst. There was no atmosphere at all.

The gooners at home in the CL was disappointing. Had been banging onto a couple of gooner pals about how CP would blow them away and taking the * out of the old highbury library! I blame Mowbray

that is such a misconception , huns were chatting * after saying they outsung us etc . we were so so so loud throughout the game , whole stadium chanting ....they just did that embarassing " ally mccoits blue and white army ( cheap * army rip off ) for ages , felt sorry for them , even the pointing to each other is such a rip off of the green brigade. they were * other than that .

Agree with the point RE the last game with the orcs, the first hour was pretty good, was in the jock stein upper for it and most songs started from the GB were joined in with then the last 30 mins were pretty dissapointing, listening to them sing their ripped of songs and doing their ripped off actions and belt out tunes such as fathers advice was * painful. Had a lot of people around me who just booed and laughed but whit the * is that going do, should be replying with a song straight away to put them * in there place there's a lot more than us, left the stadium on a bit of a downer tbh.

The Norwich game was something else though, that's the celtic support we're known for and famous for, just constant noise the whole game the atmosphere was unreal no wonder norwich wanted to be our pals haha!

And I although i get the point about people leaving the green brigade to do everything, we're so much better with them, they know exactly what songs to sing and at the right moments, without them it could be a bit of a rabble

Celtic 5-0 Hearts. What a terrible atmosphere. A damp squib. All comes down to winning the title that early. It was so quiet.

Celtic 3-0 Rangers. Last ever old firm game. Weird atmosphere last 30 mins.

Seems like the crowd weren't up for they games. Why? I don't know, but I could take a guess...glory hunters becoming bored.

Ok, there's a glory-hunter in all of us - everyone wants to win, but I mean the people who ONLY turn up for the big games. They got bored. Title was done, game was finished. That's the only reason I can think of.

I thought there was a real lack of atmosphere in our Europa League games last season. I guess there are a number of reasons for this, some fans felt we didn't deserve to be there, it was a lesser tournament, we were expected to perform pretty badly, the team was in poor for, it was expensive, etc, etc, but regardless, I left my sister's confirmation early and ran half a marathon to make it to the Rennes game, stadium was at most half full. Was definitely unimpressed.

I think some fans think that our best fans in the world title that we've bestowed ourselves is just going to stay there no matter what, but tbh, there have been some good atmostpheres domestically lately, but it's been a long time since I've seen our support adversly affect an opposing team. Then again, tomorrow could be the return of that.

The 6 o'clock kick offs were the main reason people never turned up i think

    This. :50:

Whichever marketing genius at UEFA allowed himself to be conned into OK'ing this by some undoubtedly smarmy TV exec should have a serious look at themself.

Despite the small crowd and the 6.00pm kick off for the Udinese home game last season, I thought the atmosphere was pretty good especially the COYBIG back and forth. Love doing that generally. :50:

It's a sad day when we can't get 60000 people into the stadium for a CL game. This game tonight is vitally important
