Think this company makes a lot of people unhappy every year when they find their movies under the christmas tree or on their birthday. :smiley-laughing002:

Who doesn't know this film company? Think everybody runs into their movies every once in a while. It's the ones that come out shortly before or after a big Hollywood blockbuster and bearing almost the same name or using parts of it, trying to con dvd/bluray buyers which works very well considering they never loose money on any of their movies.

Here are some great examples of their direct to video releases:

Note: These all came out at the same year as the blockbuster ones.

H.G. Wells: War Of The Worlds
    - War Of The Worlds (Tom Cruise)
    Ardennes Fury - Fury (Pitt)
Titanic II (Not a sequel to the big blockbuster...nor a sequel to any movie. :smiley-laughing002:)
Journey to the Center of the Earth which has the exact same title as the other theatrical movie which released in the same year)
Snakes On A Train - Snakes On A Plane. :smiley-laughing002:
Pirates of Treasure Island - Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
    Transmorphers - Transformers
    The Hitchhiker - The Hitcher
    100 Million BC - 10,000 BC
Allan Quatermain and the Temple of Skulls - Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
    I Am Omega
(liked this one tbh.) - I Am Legend
    Death Racers - Death Race
The Day the Earth Stopped - The Day the Earth Stood Still
    2012: Supernova - 2012

There's a full list here of movies you don't want to see. [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Asylum"]The Asylum - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]

Which one did your granny buy you when she went to the store with your christmas wishlist? :smiley-laughing002:

Don't really get the HG Wells one. That was a novel from about 1890??

I've always wondered how these films make money. I remember buying one years ago, can't remember its name. It was pure garbage, everything about it. Acting, sets, sfx etc. all complete and utter pish.

    Who the * funds them?

Aye, quality boxsets for a pound. Mega Pirahana's probably the only one I've watched start to finish.

By confusing buyers who don't pay attention to what's written on the back of a dvd case. Thinking theyre buying the new Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise movie with a similar title.

They usually break even after 3 months after the release of new title and normally don't spend over a million dollars on a film which is nothing these days.
