That Number 7 jersey

we should retire it for good, creates unneccesary extra pressure on the player who wears it now

 

I think retire the no.7 shirt for now and give the fans the squad number then we should get to vote on the player we think is worthy

 

Was going to start a new thread on this but used the search function and this thread came up.

When picking a player to wear the No.7 jersey, they obviously want someone a bit special - maybe with a big reputation? Freddie Ljungberg certainly has rep from his Arsenal glory-days but now?.. No. If Celtic continue this trend of picking players in this similar fashion, I think they should just retire it. I feel by these second rate players wearing it, they are tainting the legends who rightfully earned it, Henrik Larsson, Jinky, Daglish, to name a few. *, I'd probably go as far to say that Scott McDonald earned it more than some of the others.

Zurawski, Juninho (come on 1 goal in 14 apperances? You'd be better giving the jersey to Samaras)

If possible, I'd rather they'd let some players earn their kudos at Celtic first before they so brazenly pass this jersey about, true it's just a number at the end of the day - but it's our special number. So lets give it to players who can earn the jersey and not just the goalscorers, I'd rather see that number 7 on Kayal right now, he show's the same passion and fight that the true No.7 wearers had shown.

Id think of giving Stokes the shirt.Number 9 should be considered a special number too Dalglish was originaly 9 Sutton was 9 and samara..... thats the exception:icon_mrgreen:.

 

Give the number to Lenny, MON always had a number.
