That's completely different... Boruc and Rangers have an ongoing feud. Terry's problem was from 22 years ago. Leave it be. If Boruc still refuses to shake peoples' hands in 22 years then I will call him immature. Boruc is no different from thousands of other rivalries across the world such as US/Mex who never, ever shake hands or trade jerseys after the game.

This would be like Boruc making a stink about Rangers as the GK coach back at Legia in a CL game 22 years in the future. Try harder to rile up your own fellow supporters, you're getting lazy.

I think in the heat of the moment you don't have to shake hands, especially when your emotions are controlling your body and thoughts (huns games)

but that incident happened 22 years ago and he's still holding a grudge. as already pointed out, it's a personal thing, nothing to do with scotland at all.

The UK and Ireland are drifting northwest towards Iceland and later Greenland. So just wait a few million years and you'll be in CONCACAF! :icon_mrgreen:

We can blame the SFA, aka huns reunited, for this.

    Shambles of an association.

Exactly mate. I found his talk of getting a red card in the tunnel for punching Maradona highly embarrassing. If it was supposed to be humorous it didn't work. He just came across as a total *. If he's looking for someone to blame for England losing that game he should blame Gary Lineker, who missed a sitter near the end. (all tho Lineker did have a cracking tournament overall tbh)

He has acted like a spoilt brat in the days leading up to the game, and his conduct was no better tonight.

Its embarassing he is involved in the Scotland set up.

Yes, I'm ashamed of him:47: and my feelings wouldn't change if it were Henrik doing the same job in the Scotland position. You've got to have respect, especially at the top level.

To me this epitimises what most fans hate about English football. The arrogance and self obsessed nature of the man has always been plain to see.

Butcher, Roberts, and all those other English hatchet throwers that were at the huns in the late 80's, were and still are complete * !!

Hope he got an almighty skelf through his trackies tonight when, probably as ever, he kicked in the dressing room door !!

I'm not trying to wind people up, I think Butcher should have shook Diego's hand.

but Its hugely hypocritical of me to slag off Butcher for it, yet defend Artur for doing the exact same thing.

I know Butcher's beef ( no pun intended ) is from 1986, but what he done is the exact same as what Boruc done to Rangers players, it doesn't matter what year it happened. Fact is both were totally immature and should have grown a pair of balls.

I defended Artur at the time, simply because it was against Rangers, but now that the same thing has happened, it makes you realise just how daft Boruc was acting.

Butchers bitter about a match from 22 years, I guarantee you in 22 years Rangers fans are still bitter about Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink's 94th minute winner.

It's so utterly and completely different it's not even funny. Butcher is angry about what happened 22 years ago involving a team he is not representing.

Also, the law seems to think that these are two different things because there are often two different punishments for if something is done in the heat of the moment (Boruc) and if something is done premeditated because of a slight in the past (Butcher). It's like I said, if Boruc refuses to shake hands with Rangers in 22 years as a GK coach for Legia, that will be the same thing.

And it's worth noting that people aren't just upset about the hand shaking, it's the constant things he's been saying all week like "Maradona's not the best I've played against", "he's lucky I wasn't sitting next to him in the testing room after the game", "I've got good odds of getting a red card in the tunnel for punching him." When you add all of that into account then it's quite obvious we aren't dealing with the same situation.

As others have said Butcher shouldn't be in the position to start with but now he's made a totally mockery out of us and he should gtf along with Burley. He's just a sad, bitter *.
