The brand of football is my main reason for taking a liking to other teams, and that changes over time.

I used to like watching Arsenal, some of the football they played was incredible. Couldn't really care less about them, even then, but they were good to watch.

I still love watching Barca, but not as much as when they had Ronaldinho in the the team. Outwith Celtic players, he is the player I have admired the most, and still to this day.

Atletico Madrid have kind of caught my eye the past two seasons, not sure why though. And a special mention to the Sevilla team that nearly won the title a few years ago. When they had Alves, Fabiano, Kanoute, Adriano etc. They were superb to watch.

I had a bit of a thing for Chelsea when I was younger, probably as they were always a bit of a glamorous underdog- can't abide them these days, I can't forgive them for the whole Rangers love-in thing.
As for their fans having a reputation, when they came to Bristol Rovers old Eastville ground in the 70s it was the only time I have ever seen police horses actually on the terraces trying to keep fans apart, incredible scenes, which if I'm honest as a 14 year old seemed quite exciting, when the reality was that there were some pretty vicious thugs on both sides (and on the horses!)

I used to admire both Barcelona and Real Madrid a good few years ago back when it was Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Zidane, Roberto Carlos, Ronaldo etc...still like Barcelona and have a few of their strips but I'm not really a fan of Madrid anymore.

Loved chelsea under acelotti. One of my favourite managers and the year chelsea won the league under him was some of the best football I've seen them play.

He's also the reason I like real now.

I used to like certain teams because of certain players.

I liked Real Madrid because of Raul, and latterly Zidane/Carlos
I liked Juventus, mainly because of Del Piero, but also Nedved, who I thought was top class.
I really liked Ajax when they had Kluivert/Litmanen. Always had a soft spot for Ajax.
I've always liked Real Betis, ever since my old man bought me the top. Around the time of Joaquin, Oliviera etc

I thought nobody in the forum liked Betis...:notworthy

Great squad that. We won the Spanish Cup and defeated Chelsea in CL in the best match I've ever seen in Villamarín.

Like others, I enjoyed watching teams because of certain players and not because I supported the clubs. So many players that I enjoyed watching have been mentioned so here is a couple more to add to the list.

There's a 'Mugs Gallery' if you click along the picture gallery, just in case you recognise anyone you want to grass up!

There was always going to be a degree of trouble and it didn't help when after the first pitch invasion people were just allowed to return to their seats, which sort of gave the green light to others.

Obviously not all Bristolians are 'scumbags' just those south of the river :)

Always something special about the Galactico era at Madrid, as soon as the genius Guardiola was against that horrible runt Mourinho it was a no-brainer. Watching those Clasico games and seeing the way the Real players were sent out to hurt Messi was shocking.

He is not a genius - he may BECOME a genius, however he still has to prove himself more. Afterall, Vilanova managed to win with the same squad....

Guardiola not a genius?? Took over a bloated squad with past-it superstars, had the balls to get rid of them, then imposed his own brand of football which has earned Barca respect as possibly the greatest side of all time. There are few football managers who deserve the respect Guardiola does. He's as good as it gets, and any team lucky to have this man at the helm while he remains hungry for the game will be one of, if not the best side in the world.

The style of football they play has been a part of the Barcelona system for decades, it did not come to fruition from the mind of Guardiola. The team he inherited also had: Valdes; Puyol; Xavi and Iniesta. These 4 players are the core of the team. Obviously bringing through and nurturing Messi was brilliant. However Guardiola was lucky aswell, to be part of a system so unique and talented as the Barcelona system.

He will be great at Bayern, however he is not a great just yet.

Not true, Cruyff was key in pushing attacking football and bringing youth through more than anyone else at Barca along with Carles Rexach. Not many at the club supported him. In those years under Van Gaal and Rijkard Barca didn't play the possesion football they play now. They were burdened with stars who didn't work hard enough for the team. Guardiola transformed everything about the club, and was the inspiration for players like Xavi and Iniesta from his time with the "Dream Team". A treble in your first season after the team you inherited with all its "stars" could only achieve 3rd in La Liga and no other honours is also, unbelievable.

Don't mean to be a know-it-all just finished Graham Hunter's phenomenal "Barca" for the 2nd time and my head's full of this stuff :50:
