Gone for Adam Matthews.
Vic or Forrest will walk it right enough.

Wanyama for me.

Probably Rogne for me. The stability he has brought to the backline has been vital for us. Top defender
-
Jimmy "Shooders" Forrest for me.
By a long way. -

James Forrest by a distance

Putting my tin hat on here...
I actually think Forrest is slightly overated, granted he has had games where he has been outstanding, and he is still just young, but for the past couple of months, before he got injured he had been poor, and should have really had a spell on the bench. He was though about the only bright spark (along with stokes) when we were on that poor run though. He really needs to be more consistent imo, that however will come with age hopefully -
Forrest for me.

Forrest. Vic has been great, but has also been off form for a while.

tam rogne for me. stayed fit for longer this season and he has shown himself to be best centre half at club, along with chico. forrest, matthews and wanyama have all been great too but in my, possibly biased, opinion rogne deserves it
-
I was going to vote for Wanyama, but Rogne just edges it for me, outstanding centre back for someone his age.
-
Went for Wanyama. Only had one or two poor games in a Celtic shirt all season and most of the time the rest of the team were dire as well. Forrest on the other hand I find is either a match winner or anonymous. For consistency Wanyama gets my vote.

James Forrest. :50:
No criticism of Vic or Thomas, but the two main reasons certain players can look good at an early age, is if they are bulky in advance of their years, or they have an early composure that usually only kicks in during the early-mid 20s. Vic and Thomas have both these factors in their favour, and so might be partly classed as early developers.
James I think still has more to come on the composure side, and probably on the bulking out too. But he is already a fantastic player on the basis of talent, and natural pace - things which can't be added at a later stage. I think he has huge potential, and will eventually move on a la Aiden.
Adam Matthews, of course, is the youngest of the lot. Who knows what he might achieve?Last edited by a moderator: Apr 10, 2012 -

Tough one this. I went for Forrest largely because of the monumental part he played in dragging us through to our great run, getting us out of holes in games like Killie and really helping us 'break through', if you like, to start winning. After we beat Hibs 4-1 in the LC I felt he was playing well enough to be player of the year, he was just outstanding that night. His form has dipped a bit lately, but I still think he should be YPOTY. All the others have been great as well, Wanyama particularly, but have also suffered some real dips in form at times.

Tough one, they have been equally impressive in different ways.
