Alot of the teams Rangers played last season in the UEFA were pacy teams but rangers slow back 4 held out and took them to the final... So if rangers can do it then so should we especially with higher quality of players.

CB-s stay back and wait for the striker to get into their murder range. That's how it's done. And what if Tamas doesn't come?(I think he won't)

The difference being that we try to win games Rangers tried to draw and win on penalties. They play 5 across the midfield and they were pacey. so their defence did not need to run as they just sat on the 18 yard line.

So you want us to do that now?

If you watched the friendlies you would know that balde had pace. He has more pace than caldwell and mcmanus combined.

Speed can be compensated by positioning and leaving off an imposing image at a game. Yes, I do think Messi would get a bit more cautious after a couple of mental glares and bodychecks. Frightening is a key to containing attackers.

Why wont he? We need to wait until the deal is complete which these days takes a lot of time. The deal might be struck with him just the fee and add ons to be ironed out with auxerre as reported.

As for CB's to stay back. Are you serious? If our centre backs just stayed back JVOH would never have scored that goal against the huns as Gary Cladwell Dinked a great ball to McDonald. Also in that game was his good pass to Naka for the opener although I think that ball was a bit fortunate as I dont even think it was meant for Naka.

When in possession and pressing forward our CB's form our defensive line on the halfway line same as any other club but you then need pace in case of a counter attack

Not the way we play in the league, our defence sits further up the pitch, so if the defence of an opposing team lumps a ball out of their box over the half way line theres a chance a pacy striker can turn our defence and be in on goal.
Hey but we could get Bobo to shout on him to turn round so he can show him a scary face!!

You would never see Henrik, Sutton or Big Bad John being afraid. Good strikers thrive on that kind of attention, it shows that they have got to their defender.

Catch a grip of yourself. If you went to the games you would know that Balde hardly even got on the bench last year.

Not if you are very strong. A foul on the forward around 40m isn't dangerous in most cases. Force and determination just counts more for a CB.

Are you serious? He plays against world class defenders week in and week out in La liga and believe me he does not get scared off the ball. * me the ball hardly leaves his left foot unless he passes or shoots

Great tactic get the CB's to foul everyone at 40 yards out then get booked for persistent fouling, then pick up suspensions theres a plan

I've seen Balde murder attackers that way, in MON era. It's a grave error from Strachan that he is not used.

Maybe at home and maybe when he had pace still, but not away from home, otherwise we wouldnt still be looking for an away win would we
