    I think its fair that we are refusing to overpay this guy. What are his alternatives? Stay where he is on 6k a week. I think 14k a week for him is a handsome offer and if he does not like that then he will miss out on playing at paradise.

    To be honest I couldn't say who is better as I do not know enough about the 2 players but I think Basa could also be a great signing. He will be a bit more expensive but wages must be managable.

    i think that the papers are just making up figures as there is little known what is going on behind closed doors. any time Lawwell or Tamas have spoken about the deal they say its 'going well.'

    don't believe all this mumbo jumbo about that Tamas is holding out for £31k. he would drop his price every round of discussions. Lawwell, in turn, would come up (or reformed his pay packet a bit).

    apparently tamas is after £32,000 a week. lawell has said he can go * himself if he wants that which is fair considering he was on £6K at auxerre. lawell is not going above £22,000 a week. i think this transfer is less likely each day it drags on

    shaunhail, don't believe everything you read. the only people who know what has been really demanded and offered is Lawwell, Tamas, Tamas' representitives and the Auxerre and Celtic board.

    These things take time. Its gonna be sorted soon 1 way or the other and personally the fact that we are willing to pay this fee for a CB is very encouraging. Cant member the last time we spent money on a CB
