In terms of technique he's already heaps better than Cahill.

Completely different players, but Timmy was super effective - and still is at 36. Still scoring goals for the NT.

Can't agree with that. Everything that came in to him stuck, velcro boots. Goals, assists, moments of brilliance & rarely wastes the ball. What more do you want. MOTM all day long!

If you're talking about goalscoring then yeah Rogic will score loads as did Cahill but for sheer ability Rogic surpasses him. Cahill was a power player, headers etc Rogic is just silky silky.

He was ok today, but I know he can play a lot better than that.

Stoked he got his skilful goal and chuffed that he teed one up for Forrest, seem to be good mates those two, he loves setting 'em up for Jimmy.

If Tommy can put it all together in one game he will be completely unstoppable.

One thing I didn't like is that the * sheep chopped him down a couple of times today, with a measurable amount of force. I think this will be the blueprint going forward.

I pray to the sweet lord Tom himself that he stays healthy - sky's the limit.

I think the moment I liked most from him in the whole game was actually neither his goal or assist. Aye they gave me the most joy, but in the 2nd half when we were under the kosh a wee bit, Brown and Bitton couldn't seem to get a hold of it. Rogic he came slightly deeper, picked up the ball, held off a man and pinged a lovely pass to Tierney, who was bursting forward. That set up the Sinclair chance and almost killed the game.

I am delighted for him. I think BR will get the best out of him. Really hope to see the best of Tom now imo one more quality midfielder and RB would be very important for us.

Aye 2nd half you saw him battling in midfield constantly and never giving up, improving every game in that aspect it's good to see. People said he doesn't have enough dig, starting to prove them wrong.

Its interesting to see how the opinions have changed of Rogic since when he first arrived. Being Australian, maybe we like to talk our players up more than usual but I knew from the first couple of games I saw him play in the A-league that he was going to be a special player. Its great to see he is really finding his feet at Celtic and starting to show the potential we all knew he was capable of. For what its worth I think we are going to find some real gems in the A-league this season because its getting stronger every year.

The player that has caught my eye this time is a young 16 year old by the name of Sebastian Pasquali, who plays for the Melbourne Victory. If my instincts are right he could possibly turn out better than Rogic. Just bare in mind that he is still only 16 and hasn't played much senior football and that he will only get limited minutes this year. However, I haven't been as excited about a player like this since Rogic was in the A-league. There is just something about him that draws you to him when he plays.

When Juventus came to Australia recently he came on as a substitute in the second half and did himself no harm with how he played. Didn't look out of place at all. In fact I would dare say he was one of the better players. Now I am not going to say he is going to be the next Rogic, but if you like watching the A-league and want to know about players to look out for then he is one to watch. Huge potential, could be something special.

Other than that its great to see Rogic cracking on and doing well at Celtic. Seems to be getting better with every game. I hope it continues.

He's certainly got the ability to keep up his recent form and has the potential to improve even more. To be fair he's always been highly rated here. He was known for his background in futsal, and his vision, close control, technique etc was always apparent.

He just struggled with the physicality of the game here a little bit and got quite a bad injury a few years back I think. But he always had undoubted ability and I'm glad he's having such an impact on the team. Signing a new contract looks to have settled him even more.

I have a feeling that under Brendan Rodgers we could really see Rogic turn into a key part of our team.

Some strike one him, batters the ball with power but very controlled, shoots as if he is taking a freekick.

Was a big player at times for us last season, once he was fit and found his consistency he improved us a lot.

    Defo.

2nd top scorer and was our 3rd best player last season behind Griff and KT.

I don't think it's his best position, but thoughts on him playing more defensively alongside Brown? I'm sure he did it once (against Hearts?) and got MOTM.

You could argue that there are other options in the attacking third which may allow it to happen, and that his pinpoint passing would be hugely beneficial to the transition play and itself provide a bigger pressure relief to the defensive third.

I would prefer to not waste his attacking instinct, but it shouldn't be ruled out.

IN a memorable week for Celtic, the last word fell to Tom Rogic. In the dying seconds of the Aberdeen match, he curled in a sublime free-kick to seal a 4-1 triumph over last season’s runners-up and send the Hoops to the top of the table.
The Australian internationalist held his arms aloft and beamed with delight as he took the adulation of the Paradise crowd. It was a fitting finale given the 23-year-old’s dazzling display which netted him the Man of the Match accolade.
Four days earlier, the classy midfielder, who recently signed a new three-year deal with the club, also exhibited joy on the pitch as Celtic returned to the Champions League group stages for the first time in three seasons. Naturally, this time his celebrations were more euphoric given the nail-biting manner in which this fantastic feat had been achieved.
Rogic and his team-mates can now look forward to taking on Barcelona, Manchester City and Borussia Monchengladbach for a place in the last 16 of the competition, a mouth-watering prospect.
Aside from 10 minutes against AC Milan in 2013, it will be his first taste of the competition and he told the Celtic View that he’s relishing challenging himself against the cream of the continent.

What are your thoughts on the UEFA Champions League draw?
It’s a tough draw but exciting. You want to be play against the best teams and in this competition there are no easy teams. We have some really good opposition in there and those opponents are going to be really tough. It’s good, exciting and something to look to forward to and this is the tournament you want to play in as a player.

What excites you most about the group section?
All of it. We are in the in pinnacle of club football and this is where we want to be as players and a football club, and now we are in it we are not there to make up the numbers and hopefully we can be successful. We are going to be underdogs in the group but it’s just exciting to be part of it and as a player you want to be part of this competition and test yourself. Not being involved in it recently has been disappointing so to have it back is exciting and we are eagerly looking forward to it.

What does it mean to you to play in the Champions League?
I was here the last time we qualified against Karagandy but this time feels different, having played and being able to have an influence. Back then I was still fairly new to the club and surroundings and didn’t play so much to have an effect on things. When you feel a bit more part of it then it just feels more real and when the final whistle went last week, there was just joy and relief as that is what we have been working towards since day one of pre-season. Now that we have achieved that milestone we can look forward with confidence as we look to progress in the league and the group stages.

He played a full 90 min and was okay.

Iraq set up to block the midfield space for Tommy and the others. They played very narrow in the middle and had a very high defensive line. This meant Tommy had very little time or space on the ball and had to work within a very compressed midfield area - negating his strengths. Well done to the camel brothers.

Iraq tired in the second half and more space opened up. Tommy was also hacked down 2 or 3 times when he had possession.

He had one opportunity to run at the keeper one on one, but the slick little Iraqi centre back * was too quick and overtook him.

    Wasn't injured, thank *.
