Hammer your right ...Any group that plays New songs at festivals need to wake up ..People need to hear the old songs the ones they can sing along to , throwing the odd new one is is ok but a run of them is a no no ..That is what tours are for :50:

New ones in bold, just to help you confused folks out, genuinely baffled where this mystery "run of new ones" is hidden.

    1. Library Pictures
    2. Brianstorm
    3. This House Is A Circus
    4. Still Take You Home
    5. Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair
    6. Pretty Visitors
    7. She's Thunderstorms
    8. Teddy Picker
    9. Crying Lightning
    10. Brick By Brick
    11. The Hellcat Spangled Shalalala
    12. The View From The Afternoon
    13. I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor
    14. Suck It And See
    15. If You Were There, Beware
    16. Do Me A Favour
    17. When The Sun Goes Down
    18. Mardy *
    19. Fluorescent Adolescent
    20. 505

Of those six, three got good receptions. Brick By Brick and Don't Sit Down have been out for months now and both got singalongs.

    My point exactly :50:

Matt, could you point out which songs from the setlist they have actually released and which are album tracks?

Not being a fan there was a run of at least 4 songs I have never heard before.

Hammer, the tracks in bold are the tracks that have been released as singles. In my opinion they picked a lot of strong songs from across all four albums although if you haven't listened to the albums I can see your point that it could seem a bit flat.

Where I was in the crowd, everyone seemed be really enjoying it.

Over half their set they haven't released. Definitely their own concert set and not a festival headlining one imo.

    Exactly.

I didn't see Arctic Monkeys because they classed with Swedish House Mafia, but SHM played songs 90% of the crowd knew - which made it a spectacular atmosphere.

I thought Still Take You Home got one of the best receptions, and although Mardy * never got released it's one of the songs that the bams all know, and Brick By Brick was released. Also if you have ever listened to Arctic Monkeys and not listened to 505, you need help. That's a fair bit more of the set. All their albums have got to number one anyway, it's not like they're playing obscure b-sides.

There are people who still expect them to play their first album + Fluorescent Adolescent, they shouldn't be pandering to that crowd. They have four great albums, and only played two songs from the "difficult" Humbug. There were plenty of crowd pleasers in there, it's been years since he's let the crowd do almost the entire intro to When The Sun Goes Down, and the new slower Mardy * was a nice touch.

The slower version of Mardy * was fantastic. Goosebumps up the spine stuff.

Brandon Flowers was my highlight of the whole weekend. King Tuts went absolutely mental when he finished off with Mr Brightside. Thought Arctic Monkeys & Coldplay were awesome too. :50:

Of course they should be pandering that crowd, that's who was standing in front of them  A festival crowd there to listen to the hits of all the acts that are there.

I realise you are a fan but I'm a Killers fan, if The Killers turned up at TITP and played half a set of album material I would slate them. Their own concert is for that stuff not the headline slot of a festival.

I would argue that you should have something for everyone, which they did, after all at a festival if you are really just there for When The Sun Goes Down and Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor you can * off to some other act if you don't like standing there for the duration of the album material.
They are a band who think in terms of great albums. They're not going to pander to the type of people who think that because it's not been released as a single it can't be a great song.
