Really hope that this is true, we need an experienced left back even if because of his age he would only be with us for 1 year, maybe 2. Would be an excellent addition for SPL & CL and as has been mentioned can maybe help bring out the best in Misun and might even give Naylor the kick up the * he needs!

Are you lot joking?? He could be used as a stop-gap until we find a good young left back but so what if he's 35? He played in the Champions League Final against Man Utd so if he's good enough for that he's good enough for the SPL! We would still get a good couple of seasons out of him if not more. Look at Davie Weir and Christian Daily ffs. Sylvinho is a far better player than those 2 and would probably still be better than them when he's 50!![/QUOTE]

What do they do have to do with it there pish. All am saying is IMO i dont want someone coming here to relax and finish there final playing years. I want a young pacey left back and plus its my opinion. If he did come then i would obviously back him.

I think he would be a good signing on 2 conditions, he still has 100% commitment (which I don't think will be a problem) and doesn't want a kings ransom in terms of wages (this might be a stumbling block). No doubting his ability and plenty players are now playing on for longer so could definitely solve our left back problem.

As long as we can get a decent LB I'd be a happy man.
So, bring him in! The young lads from the club could also learn from him during that year.

Sylvinho is about to sign for Glasgow Celtic. The forma Barca Player wants to continue to play in the champions league.

The 35 year old is a free agent after his contract was not extended by Barcelona. The Brazilian has searched the market and has opted for Celtic, which has already been negotiated.

Sylvinho has said he is about to sign for Celtic. His decision to sign as Artur Brouc explained was his desire to play in the champions league.

A LB in today's game has to be , young and fit to get up and down the flanks for a full 90 minutes.
Sylvinho will find it difficult at his age to carry out that task and he will not have a great body of players around him to dig him out when he needs it.
There is a difference with being 35 with your position being centre half to being 35 and your position being full back.

I have no idea. Ive just translated it. But I would wait till the club actually confirms or denies it. I haven’t seen anything about it in the Scottish press.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

The man is a class act at 35 the CL final showed that, bombing up an down the left side as if he was 21

Sylvinho will get up and down the park more than any of our current full backs, except Caddis, that is FACT!! He was up and down the line for barca in the CL final.

These days age isnt too much of a concern, the older you get and more experience you have you dont have to have lightning pace as you will be able to read the game. Sylvinho has played at the top with and against the best players so he will know when to go forward and where to be defensivley.

What do they have to do with it?? Eh you were complaining that Sylvinho wouldn't be a good signing because he's 35 and i gave you 2 examples of players that are playing in the SPL and are older than Sylvinho and are not as good but still do a job for their team! We've got a young left back in Misun but he's going to be out for a few months so Sylvinho can fill the void at least until Misun can be a 1st team regular.

And Sylvinho wouldn't be coming here just to relax and finish his career, that's a stupid statement. He still wants to play Champions League football and can get that at Celtic.
