You dont have to tell us about our league...we're watching it every week..
But we have got more than 5 people in our forum,
And champions league football to look forward to.

You got....what.?..the heady heights of 6th from bottom
Maybe 7th in a good year.

Will never understand why the English obsess with comparing us to any one of their leagues. Population, money etc mean there's no comparison to be made. It also makes me laugh that fans of clubs like Palace slag us off when we're ten times the size of club they will ever be, despite being in a * league with no competition.

English fans of * clubs compare leagues, it's something I've noticed. It's pretty strange, it's like they support the league itself because they know they are rotten.

    Kyogo. A phenomenon
Taking a relegation battle over being Champions.

It's these kind of lines that really are so hilariously baffling that I love them. "Ooh, i canna wait to play against Fulham to see whether or not my wages will be slashed next season - thank * i'm not up the road away to play Barca."

Another simpleton - to the bin with you.

For Joe's sake, I hope he doesn't find himself playing Championship fitba next season. What a waste it would be, to be honest.

Aye, he's far better than the Championship. I can't help but feel he grabbed a move for us to get the money rather than waiting for summer for a better club.

Wonder if he will come up for his winners medal. It would be nice to give him a send off.

Must be a tragic existence having to espouse the values of your league owing to the fact that the club you support is of zero relevance to European or world football.

I think it was more the club to be honest. Given the choice, I think he'd rather have waited until the summer and got a deal at a better club (or at least guaranteed himself a full season of Premiership football), but the club needed to cash in on him.
That said, he could always have signed a new contract...

Especially given he is unlikely to win anything other than the Championship player of the month award for the foreseeable future :56:

Big time jealous I think. Also the fact that we are such a big and world wide club despite the total lack of resources available based on our league actually just makes the size, quality and world wide name of Celtic all the more impressive when compared to clubs like Crystal Palace.

I hope so. I am still gutted he is gone. But he gave us 3.5 good years and some great memories.

That's what I think also. Fans of English Premier League clubs always make me laugh with their ignorant opinions. When I think of average EPL fans I get the image of a stupid caveman randomly shouting Premier League and when they hear of things such as Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga and all of the other leagues around the world they can't process and understand the words they are hearing. The only way they know how to respond is by shouting Premier League even louder.

How much did relegation candidate FC pay us for Joe Ledley? Any ideas? Good bit of business.

All sorts of numbers flying about, from 800k to 2.5m.

I'm going to guess it's 800k rising to whatever depending on EPL survival.

Nowhere near 2.5m though, maybe 1.5m.

    Palace fan in peace.

Hi sorry to here all the bitterness towards Palace and the EPL. Celtic are a great club but a great club against very few teams of a similar standard as yourselves. This shows up when in Europe and how you have coped against better opposition. That said I do always root for you rather than the Blue part of Scotland.

Why did Joe come to Palace? TBH I really don't know. He will not be earning as much with us as he did with you we he a very tight wage limit here and whilst he will be one of our top earners i'm sure he's taken a pay cut.

He will not be in Europe, apart from his holidays. The only reason I can think of is that as one of your posters said is he wants to play against tougher opposition week in week out. If that is the case he should be applauded rather than staying where he is and taking the money.

Watched many a game and videos of him and am very impressed with what I have seen. He is a massive improvement on what we have in central midfield with only our captain being of a similar standard, but a different type of midfielder.

It does beg the question why weren't more EPL teams in for him.

Anyway good luck in the league, that's a joke, and good luck in the cup and in Europe next season.

PS: I believe we paid £750'000 for him.

    Highly unlikely in my opinion.
