Given time hopefully we will see Biton and/or Johansen offer the same sort of consistent level of performances Joe did.

Profit is profit for us I guess but for Joe personally Palace is a terrible terrible move for his career he is better then that really and like it has already been said is likely going to be back were he started come next season in the Championship.

I always thought of him as our mordern day Lennon, always kept his head down, got on with his job and never really got the praise he should have, really sad to seem him go :54:.

quick question now has there actually been a Welsh player who has done * for us? I mean Ledley, Matthews, Hartson and Bellamy are and were great for this club, maybe we should buy more of them :56:

We should go for Ramsey and Bale.

    I'm not picky.
I guess Hooper and Wanyama were mercenaries as well then.

They're professional footballers. A footballers career is short and most play where they get the most money. So yes, I'd probably say Hooper and Wanyama are mercenaries to some extent, but I can't really blame them for it.

Hooper rejected a bigger wage offer from QPR to go to Norwich IIRC.

To play in the premier league, where he has a better chance of getting noticed by a bigger club that will ultimately pay him more money. I didn't say that all footballers are mercenaries, but most are.

You said Gary Hooper was a mercenary to an extent. In my opinion, if that were the case, he would have gone to the club offering him more money. Which was QPR.

Larsson, wee Jackie, McStay ect are great servants. Would you put them in the same bracket as people who have only spent 3-4 years at the club? I wouldn't

    Bullshit!

He done well at the club, never said he didn't but we are not going miss him that much IMO with the players we have.

So what you are saying a guy who has been here for two days is a great servant?

That is bodyswerving his question he put forward to you. Do you think Chris Sutton & Lubo were great servants to the club?

Norwich probably offered more money than us tbf. I liked Hooper, but he is a professional footballer who has no real connections to the club(He's an English spurs fan to be exact) who saw a chance to get a bigger pay check and to play in a better league. Yes I know that he won't be getting any European football at Norwich, but he obviously wants to play in the national team and was unfortunately being overlooked at us because of the league we play in. I also can't imagine QPR offered him that much more money than Norwich.

I don't think we offered him what he deserved if I'm honest. Of course, nobody knows for certain what we put forward to him, but I highly doubt it was up there with the wages of the likes of Brown or Ledley. Trying to break into the National Team was probably the biggest factor in his move though, otherwise, he would have gone to QPR for more money. I have said it before though, the closest Gary Hooper has been to getting a call up for England, was when he was playing and scoring in the Champions League for us I think.

I think he is on £35k a week at Norwich - they were talking about that 'busting the bank' for him. That can't be that much more than us.

QPR I reckon would have offered the same but probably offered a huge bonus for getting into the premiership.

What you said is correct though, he obviously believes the EPL will help him play for England and maybe get a bigger move elsewhere. :54:

People are really not appreciating Ledley enough, probably because his form dipped at a point last year and that's all anyone can think about... embarrassing really! He was a key part in transforming us from the Mowbray era, to where we are now.

No it's not, they where great players for us in the time they where here, now but they are not great servants like others I have said.

So my examples are they not great servants? You see where I'm going with this.
