take evander sno n caldwell off tht list. caldwells our best defender and evander snos young still. not as if hes earnin 20 grand a week or anythin so may as well gamble on him

BINGO if he is. him and caldwell. also nicky shorey left back. he can ping a decent ball forward for the big man as thats obviously wt strachan looks from his wing backs. kapo frm birmingham, james mcfadden eve though hes a traitor, kevin doyle/kitson, may as well pick out the best frm all the relegated teams thats our market

i kinda agree rd-67. the clubs that do go down... will undoubtable want top dolor. which i dont think we can contend with. these players will be snapped up by wba, stoke etc. they are getting 60mil coming up.... what do we get, couple o mil or sumthen?! but ye, i wouldnt mind a few players..

 

Nicky shorey is a great left back but think he will go to a bigger epl club who will give him a stupid amount of money in wages. Would like to see us try and sign stephen hunt from reading

some crap gets said here, ye know. Why are so many celtic fans obsessed with bringing in Irish players? Keane would be great but he's still out of our price range & Ramos wouldnt let him go! Duff's out of our price range, and more injury prone than kewell!? Why not see if Cascarino would like to come back and bring in Quinn too with Brady as manager again.
So we've got Irish roots, doesnt mean we need an irish XI.

here are my "would like to see come to celtic" players:
Kevin McBride- Fulham (smart, instinctive, experienced)
Chris Baird- Fulham (sturdy, gritty, would love to wear the hoops)
Sebastian Larsson- Birmingham (young, great prospect)
James McFadden- Birmingham (instinctive and Hoops supporter)
Dietmar Hamann- Man City (experienced, great reader of game)
Jack Hobbs- Liverpool (young,great prospect)

The way that I would like the summer to unfold would be as follows

Firstly, we get rid of the rubbish thats taking up our tiny wage kitty. Riordan goes cos hes a grumpy oaf, Killen has no future so hes gone as is Gravesen. M.Brown is pish so he can be on the departure bus as well.

I would like to see Balde go, love the guy but if WGS doesnt like him then thers no point in him taking in that kind of income per week.....free up wages and get a CB that he does lyk...fact is that the guy is 32 anyway..

Sno and Donati should be given more time to prove themselves, Sno especially. I think that a year at Aberdeen on loan would be a fantastic move for him... Donati should get a decent run of games and if by then hes not the klass were looking for then he can take a ride on Mark Browns bus also

I no that I am probably going to get slaughtered for the this so perish the thought, but I think that we should sell Skippy.... The guy cost £750k and he has played outside himself all season... I dont think that he will reach these heights again.... maybe I'm wrong tho.. if we got £5-6m for him id be happy to let him go.... but for nothing less as it will be costly to bring in a replacement... I think the guy is a greedy and grumpy bu fair nuff he can find the bak of the net

I'm afraid that its too late for the walking talking holy-goalie himself.. if its not this year it will be next... love the guy... antics and all. £10m seems like a fair price for him even tho I would imagine you could almost double that if he was playing with Porsmouth or some other EPL outfit

Now onto the transfers in

Samaras?? unsure... the guy is limited but is great bench player... do we have the cash to pay £2.5m for a 30min a match striker???... didnt rele lyk the guy untill he said he wanted to delay his meeting with the Greek side to play the last game with celtic.... maybe he is celtic-minded!!!

Keepers, we need 2.. no names spring to mind but the rumour mill suggests that Fabianski and Kasper Schmeichel are being looked at... Fabianski is supposed to be a quality keeper but my knnwledge on him has been limited to Pub talk... Given would be wishfull thinking

Jimmy Bullard- Quality
Brian McBride- Decent signing
A Nolan in midfield would work nicely but is highly unlikely

Fulham may have some bargains for us...

A striker needs to be found pronto and possibly 2 if the rumour that Skippy is going to City is true... no names spring to mind here either

Carr- steer clear of this train wreck.... weve already got three RB's neway

Van Buyton would be an ideal partner for Mick in defence.... I'm only including Mick here as WGS has made the awkward oaf untouchable by giving him the captaincy.....grrrr!!

Robert Pires is out of contract this summer i believe,IMO i think he'd be a great signing but do you think he'd come and would his wages be too high for us?
I agree with greg2467 that jimmy bullard would be a good signing.

 

so WGS has worked hard to bring the average age down and build a team for the future......but you would like to see Brian "kevin " mcbride aged 35, and dietmar hamann also 35 brought in....both mediocre far too old players? Chris Baird isnt good enough to wear the hoops....seb larsson would be a good signing...and Jack Hobbs is a random idea but albeit a good one imo
