Gives the ball away far too cheaply. Id give him until Christmas under Rodgers. If he has not improved by then time for the punt imo.

Been good in pre-season but when it comes to the big games I'm sceptical.

I keep saying it but we need to bring someone into that midfield who is a class above. It is vital for Europe.

I thought Armstrong would turn out to be a quality player for us but he rarely seems to put in a performance that is better than average. Never a stand out or man of the match, just seems to get through games without doing anything of note. Needs to do more or he's another that Rodgers could be looking to move on.

His shooting is something that annoys me more than most.

Seems to hit shots from outside the area with the side of his foot constantly, it is weird. An example was there to see tonight, essentially passing it back to their keeper.

Difference is McGreggor had a bad game despite having "stepped up" for a considerable period now. Armstrong hasn't.

Amazing what 1 game does to completely erase some peoples' memory.

I think Deila and now Rodgers have both looked at his energy and thought he'd be valuable in winning midfield battles.

Problem is he doesn't have enough quality on the ball. His shooting in particular is wild.

I look at the Lad and know that he is super intelligent, can play a bit but keep seeing an ordinary player who doesn't impose himself enough. If he was good enough we wouldn't keep banging on Villa's door for Sinclair. Don't see him as wide left. If anything think he's more suited to a CM role but lacks a bit of "bite".

Think this guys problem is that he's not a left winger, never has been never will be. Give him a shot at the Callum mcgregor role and I think we will see him do well

yeah i think hes better suited to being central or attack minded centrally, similar to mcgreggor but think mcgregor has quicker feet in a tight situation though

they were expected to get forward and support the attack but we never really had a proper grip of the game and well anyone has a chance against us on artificial surfaces, we are really poor on them but seem to play on them a helluva lot especially in europe :31:

Doesn't SA illustrate the fact that we are top heavy with CMs - Armstron, Bitton, Rogic, McG, Brown, Johansen, Christie, Allan, Henderson and try to fit them into DMs, CMs, wide or No10s. Am sure BR will sort out who's needed for what areas, which will mean sales/trades/loans in the weeks ahead.

Had a change of heart that he may turn it around but he's just * man. Pish player who isn't good at anything. Can't cross, can't really tackle, can't shoot, not particularly quick, his passing is just ok and he has no dig..

That word again. Conviction. He has none..

I just hope it doesnt take brendan 7 months to realise the team will be better off without him like ronny last season .

Starting to now get a clearer picture of the deadwood Brendan has in front of him, Armstrong was always on my 'bin' list from the start of last season after his performances, then his performance on the final home game against Motherwell in the 7-0 win moved him back to my 'not sure' list. I should have known better, he is dreadful. Poor passer, tackler, shooter, mentality, physicality, skill, set piece taker just don't see what he brings whatsoever. How he gets in MF over the likes of Rogic or Allan is mystifying.

Dundee Utd have well and truly robbed us for Ciftci and Armstrong.

£1.75M for Armstrong is a total rip off and joke for what we're getting, we'll be lucky to move him on for more than £500K and I very much doubt we'd even get that.

There is no question his best position is in the middle of the park. We have so many players in that area of the team in the squad right now that we really should probably sell a couple but Armstrong I would want us to keep.

Think he might be a squad player and nothing more, tbh.
