    Do you think Bitton will become our main CB in the CL Groups? Or do you think Boyata, Sviatchenko or Ajer will secure that place instead next to Jozo?

    That looks a very strong team, but my worry would be Bitton up against some top class opposition, i know he's done well so far but really think we would need to have a dedicated CB in place tbh.

    Tbh I'd rather sign another CB, but only want to add if they are real quality.. with what we have there is a shout for Bitton. Bitton or Boyata..

    As a middle to front that just looks superb, you've got pace and great ability, cham spraying passes from the middle, Stu driving forward and the pace of Roberts and Sinclair out wide, with Griff causing havoc up top, yes ! :57:

    See similarities with the Petrov situation where contract was nearly up and we weren't going to get full value for him. Signed an extension but was away a few months later for a hefty fee.We were all saying his bad form was because a move was in back of his mind. For me, that hasn't changed.

    Still an insult. It's said many times in here but that is academy players fees in EPL. Armstrong in his last season should be going to EPL for nothing less than 8m. They have mega bucks and are lavishly throwing it to the wind. We are building a model that is already bearing fruit. They are looking at our players and we are known to be the best developers of talent. That costs money to keep that machine going. So if they want our best talent the can pay today's unrealistic going rate!

    So true I was screaming at the tv screen last year pleading with Ian Rush not to do it and of course he just had to.

    Surely not again, if we got them that would be FOUR CL Group Stages in a row we will have drawn them, that is crazy.

    The good thing is they'll be in Pot 2 this year and not Pot 1 so will be good to get a different Pot 1 team for a change. In saying that Spartak, Benfica and S Donetsk are all in Pot 1 this year :giggle1:

    Think it will depend on the opposition, Boyata can be woeful on the ball. He is a better defender and a real threat from set-pieces tho..

    Bitton is far better with the ball at his feet though, although Boyata is better in the air.

    I think with Boyata being so poor with the ball at his feet, that Brendan won't be able to trust him for the CL Groups.

    I would play Ajer before Bitton, I just don't get this massive praise. He was decent on Weds but they never exactly put us under massive pressure. I really fear if he is being considered anything other than a stop gap back there.

    Do,nt get me wrong,Bitton's doing a good job,but i just think Boyata was playing the best he's ever played
    and was a great threat at any set pieces from Griffiths.
    Didnt Brendan say he was his No1 CH.
