I expect what they hope for is he will stay till January and hopefully prove his worth in the CL. Benefit for us is more money and hopefully 4 or 5 months of good performances. Benefit for him also more money and maybe a bigger club.

No sign extension....no play...no chance to get a bigger club or at least a bigger pay deal

He has basically done what Petrov did, he obviously wants to go but the club will still get a fee. So fair play really can't slate the guy for it.

Stuart is a very smart guy. It might not be the case where he wants to jump ship, it could just be that he always wants to keep his options open.

This time next year he could potentially sign the same contract, and by continuing that, in essence he can just have a rolling contract each year. It basically gives him a lot of freedom.

It's annoying for the fans, and obviously the club, but I wouldn't be so quick to think he's wanting away. To me, if he was wanting away he wouldn't have signed a contract to begin with.

Am sure he signed 3 year deal last year. Don't know if it was a 2 or 3 years extension.

Only if 1) he recaptures his form. 2) he gets back in the team.

Brendan might be loathe to play him if he is just going to * off in January.

I know but it still would have been a boot in the baws him going for buttons, this way suits both parties as he obviously has clear intentions of trying that * league down the road.

CG on #StuSigns: "It's good for him to settle and get back to doing what he does best. He was one of our best players last season."

CG: "He's been brilliant for us. I'm glad he's got it sorted and he can now concentrate on football."

CG: "It takes time to sort these things. He is a really important player for us, a really good goal threat."

CG: "If he plays the way he has, teams will be interested."

CG: "It's good to get him for another two years, we are delighted to have him."

Wish folk would stop saying I dislike Brown, I have given him the credit he deserved for a wonderful season last season, but he has slipped a few standards below that again this season imo so far, I am not saying he will leave him out totally, Brown will still get plenty games domestically, it's just the bigger games in the CL Groups I think Brown will drop out to the bench. Don't forget as well Brown has less than a year left on his contract.

I feel if Brendan wants to make as big an impact on the CL Groups as possible this season, then playing Brown in MF at the expense of Armstrong/Ntcham/Rogic who all imo bring more than Brown in the middle of the park when in top form will be to the detriment of the team. There's no way Armstrong has signed an extension to sit on the bench. Brendan once dropped Steven Gerrard when he had to remember in the CL, he won't think twice about doing the same with Brown if he feels it's for the good of the team.

We will be a far bigger threat in the Groups with Armstrong/Ntcham playing CM together with Rogic just in front of them. I'm sure most would agree with that.

Brown will play all our CL games this season if fit, no matter how much you don't want it to be the case.

    Deal with it.

    Would agree with this.

Obviously we're looking at it from a Celtic view point. Armstrong will have his own interests and goals, whether we agree with them or not. As will every other member of the squad. One appears to be playing or trying out another league. He's played in the Scottish League all his career. Is it really that much of a surprise to people that he may want to try elsewhere?

The main thing is that we get the best from Armstrong( and every other player whilst at the club) whilst at the club. It's a bit early to be telling him to "* off" and so on, indeed if that's a reasonable response at all.

For every Paul McStay, there's a Mark Viduka (not that Armstrong is anywhere near that level).

He signed a new deal in 2016 for 3 years so we have him for another 18 months

Well then that will be to the detriment of the team if so with the other options we have available.

Brown should be the first name on the team sheet for every important game we play.

Honestly the 4 things I was saying mid June that would make me delighted was" Huns to get papped out of Europe and embarrassed by a pub team, us to get to CL Group stages, wee paddy to comeback and Armstrong to sign a new deal and I think it's aw going to happen, wish Armstrong had signed a 4 year deal but really can't complain
