Time to punt him I think. He's not as good as he thinks he is. Nitcham is better than him already imo

Wouldn't say entirely different. Have a few similarities.

I'd see McGinn as a Scott Brown type player. Not a guy who will break forward and grab 17 goals a season IMO. Even though Armstrong has only recently shown that form, he has always been attack minded. McGinn is a bit more reserved and about the combative side of things.

Don't think we need or want him anyway atm.

Don't agree with the assertions that Ntcham is already a better player than Armstrong. Potentially could turn out to be the case but if it weren't for the on-going contact situation then it would preferably be a Brown Armstrong partnership in the middle of the park every week.

    Brendan said this in June

“I wanted to put talks on the back burner towards the end of last season. I didn’t want distractions and there was a period when it wasn’t resolved.

“The last thing Stuart needed to worry about was talks."

So, that was because we were wrapping up a treble and he had the Sco v Eng game. Now we are still going on (distractions) and we have two massive games on the horizon. I've always liked Armstrong but now I'm in the 'sign or * off' camp. And quickly.

If Ntcham gets 17 goals this season I'll be surprised as *.

So will I, but he doesn't have to hit those numbers to be a better player than Armstrong.

I never said he did, the point is thats a * massive part of the squad to replace. 17 goals from midfield, think it was around 10 assists. Thats not something you let go easily.

I'd like to keep him as he is a terrific player but if he is disrupting the squad in any way with signing doubts I would have no problem if he left.

Of course not. Hopefully he stays....but we'll be fine without him.

We have plenty of goalscorers in the team and I'm sure Ntcham will be good for a few goals as well to be fair. Likes a dig from the edge of the box.

All the best teams have players who score from the midfield and that's a great record

Aye I think a lot of fans are really taking the hump because he hasn't signed a new deal just, pretending to themselves he isn't as good as he is.

Fines not good enough mate, don't think Rodgers will be happy with fine either. Right now we have Sinclair and Rogic. Griffiths struggling with injury, Dembele out, take Armstrong out of that? Thats 70 odd goals from last season. No Paddy Roberts either, who was a massive threat that James Forrest doesn't quite provide.

Both Griffiths and Dembele haven't been reliable fitness wise, I'd rather keep goals in the team.

We've been good, that doesn't mean we can be arrogant enough to dismiss some of our best talent. It's frustrating as *, I know, might even be out of our hands but we should be pulling out every trick in the book to keep him.

In what way do you feel he's disrupting the squad?

Dembele will be back in a few weeks and Griff will start on Wednesday. We haven't lost them. They've been injured...it happens.

I'd rather Armstrong stayed, obviously. I'm sure everyone would. He was my POTY last season. But in midfield we still have Brown, Ntcham, Rogic, McGregor, Eboue and Benyu. That's still a strong pool.

We're a better squad/team with Armstrong in it, but he's taking the * * now. Sign the new contract or * off.

Griffiths was out for large periods last season, Dembele's broken down a few times. It's why even last season we had to go a few games without a striker.

Are you confident they'll go injury free all season? I'm really not.

Going in a huff isn't the best way to conduct negotiations mate.

No I'm not, which is why we should sign a third striker. Or another winger who can play as a striker on the odd occasion i.e. Roberts.

It's not going in a huff, but where does it end?

Look at Mark's quotes a few posts above. Rodgers was talking in June about the contract situation. It's now the middle of August and it's still not resolved. How much longer do you give him? Enough is enough. Should be given a date to get his finger out his *, if not then he's getting punted.

Rodgers was saying last night that the whole situation is affecting Armstrong. That's exactly what we're wanting before our biggest games of the season...one of last seasons best players with his mind elsewhere.

Please read again--" but if he is disrupting the squad in any way"
Don't know what's going on so can't really say he is or he's not but if he is I would want him gone.
    But it's all speculation
