Maybe that formation could work, if so we would need to bring a quality CB to replace Sviatchenko.

BRs team never played very well in a 3-5-2. Dont think he would change to that and play guys out of position just to accomodate one guy

I would imagine it spells the end for Nir Bitton and possibly Liam Henderson. I really don't see Stuart leaving at all.
It seems to be regular in football these days for players to take their time signing contracts, even if them leaving that club seems unlikely. I would imagine someone as clued in as Stuart is is making sure everything is spot on before signing, he knows he is in a good bargaining position. I would expect this to be sorted out, just not overnight.

15 league goals last season from midfield. That's 2 league goals less than Moussa Dembélé...

Maybe he feels he should be getting the same wages as the top earners.. Broony, Dembélé and Sinclair?

Get Ciftci, Bitton and GMS off the wage bill and stick one of their wages on top of his current wage. Sorted.

Mate we have got shot of £60k plus a week aff the wage bill with commons, Toure, Ambrose, vault, fasan, Christie, O'Connell off the wage bill the money is there but after 1 decent season can he command in excess of £20k a week straight away I don't know tbh.

Say he was on £7k a week last season I would say a double to £14k with a further incentive would be fair.

I'd give him 18-20k no problem mate.

If we end up losing him and have to sign a replacement it will probably cost us a fair whack, plus 20k per week anyway.

17 goals in total from midfield last season and he works his * off every game.

I think Rogic is the more likely fall guy (sadly), or see him continuing in the super sub role. I read 4-1-2-3 was most likely (somewhere else on the forum), with Broony as the holding midfielder allowing Armstrong and Ntcham licence to go forward

Wonder if Armstrong was waiting to see if his bezzie mate had a future at Celtic before he decided on his own future

    I agree.

Sometimes it's better to spend money (more wages) on proven first team players than take a gamble on an unknown for the same money.

For all the talk about how great our business model is, it does seem very short-sighted on occasions.

We should be doing everything to accommodate Armstrong's demands, if he doesn't accept then so be it. At least we tried.

At the end of the day none of us know what is going on. Club and player could be a million miles apart or on the verge of signing a contract! Just hope he signs and soon....

If he does want away, would you trust him to play in the qualifiers? Maybe he'd hold back not wanting to risk injury and jeopardise a move

I've said it once and I'll say it again, if Stuart Armstrong gets his way then he'll be signing a new contract. I would be absolutely shocked if he doesn't.

Surely Stuarty has to get his agent telt if he actually really wants to stay?

If he does though why's he not telling his agent to sort out a meeting with the club? sounds from what Rodgers is saying there they haven't spoke to the agent in a while at least.

Agent's do what they're told so if Armstrong isnt pestering his agent to get it sorted then it'd seem he's happy with how things are going.
