I don't think Tierney will be experienced enough when Brown retires to take over the captain role, i could easily see Armstrong taking it. Very well spoken, gets all around the pitch and has shown he can change games just by playing.

Who's better than him for Scotland? We could do with an energetic box to box player, especially one who has a good understanding with Broony.

Why is Strachan still the manager, isn't someone else taking over for the next Euros?

Btw I thought his goal was a perfect demonstration of us at our best and how easily we can cut them open with simple precise passes in and around the box. Lay off from Jamesey was the right pass and it gave him the space to shoot. When we're on form that's what we'll do to them from all angles.

Was a pity when KT made that brilliant nutmeg there was no one there to receive a pass. But that's what we have to do, take them on and be brave. Exactly what Armstrong was. The high tempo he plays at makes all the difference too.

I remember he took the ball of messi. That's good enough for me to him in the team!

On a serious note he was the real man of the match today, but obviously couldn't give him it as he was subbed.

Here is what I think happened. I think Brendan made an error of judgement substituting McGregor for Biton, it should have been Griffiths, every body knew that and was calling for that. He got himself into a pickle when Rangers starting taking a grip of the game because of McGregor's ineffectiveness, consequently Stuart took one for the Boss and came off willingly. What Brendan should have had the balls to do was sub the sub McGregor and kept Armstrong on.

We kind of collapsed when he went off as Broony was left having to do too much on his own.

And I don't think getting Armstrong off was as much of an issue as who his replacement was. Griffiths seemed to be doing zero defensive work even when it was obvious we were coming under more and more pressure. You could see him aimlessly jogging about, while runners were going forward right next to him. I get that Griffiths is not in the team to defend, but in games like yesterday there's no other way.

When Griffiths came on he clearly stated we were going 2 up front.

He said two or three times "two" and showed two fingers when he came on.

The way wee Gordo talked about him, I don't think he will start. Sounds like he's high on Tom Cairney.
