Aye I think he's a good team player as well which is what most talent in the CL is anyway. Only a few individual characters stand out from the top teams.

Like Phil Mitchell striking fear in to everyone then being half the man and everybody ripping the pish out the jakey *. Everybody knew that that wasn't the real Broony, and capitalised on it......now though, I genuinely believe player's are 100% scared of going up against, and in to challenges with the wee man..

Aye, i run this * hovel so sit back down ya ugly penny stamp rodents..

The ginger * thinks he's a hardman but he's like Derk Boerrigter in a jackass movie..

Poor Derk, what did he do to warrent such a brutal but brilliant imagery :101:

It's the confidence Broony displays, there is not a hint of fear in his eyes. When someone shows that kind of fearless attitude towards any hard man situation then the opposition know it's best to probably find another route through midfield.

Joey Barton man that was funny. Not seen a player so emasculated for a while but he asked for it.

Thing is, Broony can do it in Europe too, when we got spanked 7 0 in the Nou Camp I thought he actually was the only player who came out of it with an above average performance. But he can't do it all himself against those kind of teams, that's why I think we need another strong DM to partner him in games like that.

Derk Beorrigter my goodness, I was at his unveiling and it was so exciting, Ajax winger, he's going to tear up the SPL!!!

Then you compare him to Virgil from another Dutch team and the difference is incredible. So much luck involved in scouting. First of all if I seen Virgil in Holland I would be wondering, why is no one else from the big leagues looking at this guy, he's obviously pure quality. Must be strange finding a bargain and not doubting yourself sometimes. Big Victor was even more of a bargain and obviously pure class was witnessed in his first game.

Brendan has done very well though in the toughest market of them all maybe, our match winners yesterday being especially brilliant.

I'll say no more about Derk incase I hurt him..

Broony's always been confident but that extra little 5% can make such a difference. Just some small tweaks to the game. Guy is oozing class. Hardman animal Barton couldn't even look him in the eye's.... That's really the level of fear that pretty much everyone domestically has for him..

Aye him and Sinclair in the Nou Camp were the best of a bad bunch I think and we'll deffo add someone to play in that middle. I wonder if Brendan will go for that kinda Coutinho, Lallana type midfielder. Energetic, very good on the ball and can play a variety of positions from central or off the wings. I think Brendan is gonna look for a player who is versatile like that, obviously of a lower quality..

Less said about Derk the better. Brendan won't sign a dud like that..

Aye Ajax should never be forgiven for selling us Derk. We have much better luck with Feyenoord or Groningen.

Tell you what, you're a guy you want on your side, just thinking of Feyenoord there and Kazim Richards. You protected him like Jimmy 5 Bellies :boxing: :56:

Dunno why but I've never seen you protect a new signing as much as you did him :40: Right till the end you made sure if he read this site he would mostly only see good things said about him :notworthy I mean you weren't like that with Amido Balde were you? I don't remember. His initial reactions and judgements were very positive though I think. At least you shut the Feyenoord fans up about CKR. We give Efe much more respect than he got. I reckon when a player leaves you should just wish him all the best and let him get on with it. Can you imagine when we sell players soon going onto the buyerrs site and saying oh he's * you'll be a man down. Need to be a right heartless * to do that. If a team scouts a player then they'll know more than enough about him.

Those * beat us in 1970 too :ranting2:. Getting Henrik did kind of make up for it. Is that an interesting question or quite easy to answer? Which would you prefer, to have beat Feyenoord in the 1970 final or the transfer of Henrik for £650,000 from them in 1997 when we needed to stop 10 in a row? :43:

Oh man I could possibly get shot down in flames for this. I'd go with Larsson. Preventing 10 in a row and the Eufa Cup Final were filled with incredible memories in between that it's hard to say one more European Cup could compete. If we hadn't already got a star above our crest then I'd pick 1970.

Aye I forgot, Sinclair was good against Barca considering the role he had and the few chances to get a hold of the ball. Big Moussa normally scores penalties with his eyes closed. More disappointed for him he didn't that game because I'm quite sure we would still have been taught a lesson. Barca were on fire. Then Iniesta comes on and scores a * volley.

We were much better at home, at least respectable.

Moussa has won us 3 hun games now. It's quite amazing only two games ago we were saying he'll be back on form soon maybe after the break but doubtful for the derby. Then he just tuned in and his form came back with one game to go. They're always brilliant goals too. Wish that one went in that hit the bar. But how cool was he controlling that corner then blasting it top corner when we were saying he needs to just blast them instead of weak shots at the keeper. Big games seem to get his adrenalin going. It will not go unnoticed. I want two more CL qualifiers out of him though, then £30m please Klopp.

Anyway this is the Armstrong thread ffs I got sidetracked. There is another Broony. Well I hadn't written Broony off but I was sure Stuart would be out the door. I underestimated Brendan big time even though I thought he was the best we could get, better than all the EPL cashmasters, Rodgers just fits us perfectly. I did not expect to be seeing Armstrong having MOTM performances and consistently brilliant displays at all. Then Forrest and Broony, * does he do to players in training. He knows how to respect a club and its current players before replacing players carte blanche like a lot of managers. It's a great faith he has in his ability to spot the best squad players and work on exactly what they need. Ruthless too, you've got to have iron will to play for Brendan because players have messed up couple of times and not been seen since. He really puts the team first. Unbeaten in the league 2016. Armstrong typifies his kind of player I think because one second he'll be clearing a ball off the line, then he'll be bombing up the park making passes and then creating an assist in the box or scoring himself. His energy is remarkable. I don't think poor Bitton could handle that pace.

*, 3 weeks without football. St Johnstone at home on the 25th at 19.45 so that's a good start back. Aberdeen 2 points behind 2nd with a game in hand. They better make use of it. Oooh we've got Hearts and the sheep two games after Saints. Both at home though. Schedule is being kind to us :50:

Big question is will there be any new faces. I'm not too bothered. But would like new players in tune with the team before qualifiers.

The more you watch his run the better it becomes. In comparison to Brown who is in a far more advanced position than Armstrong - He takes it amongst himself to make this happen and get the goal.

I personally think McCarthy would add a lot to this team but it would have to be for Brown when his legs go. McCarthy is simply not more important to us than Rogic and Armstrong.

We've not had a midfielder to make those intelligent late runs so often since Petrov

In-form Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong is poised to earn a call-up to the Scotland squad. The 24-year-old has been one of the Premiership pace-setters’ top performers in recent weeks and was watched by national team manager Gordon Strachan at Ibrox as the Hoops defeated Rangers 2-1 at Ibrox on Saturday.

Strachan had pretty high praise for him ahead of the match. I've no doubt he'll be involved in the next squad, injury permitting.

It's the timing of his runs into the box that's so incredible. You can't play him as the number ten cos then he's too far forward and can't make the runs in. But Sinclairs goal symbolised exactly what he does best, hover around the corners of the box, then penetrate when it matters.
Been a great addition to the squad, still want another DM to rotate with/assist brown though.

Another thing, when he first joined he seemed disinterested in the club.

I know he's an intelligent guy and coming from Inverness I can see why he would think such a thing - giving a bit of our support are dafties. However, in recent months he looks like a Celtic player playing for Celtic. He now knows what the club is all about and he's bursting a gut to show it.

He's turning into a man and he's doing it at Celtic.

Fine by me as long as he stays fit and healthy to play for Celtic I am all good. Loving the way he is pushing on this season under Rodgers.
