even if he doesnt make it first team,then he looks as if he could be a good utility man.young,versatile,scottish.

 

Why is him being Scottish important?

 

its a bonus for me.

 

Having players with Keltic blood in them playing for Celtic is important.

 

I reckon the core of our team should be Scottish and the rest of the team built round it.

 

Aye but the problem is there's not many Scottish players who would get in our team.

 

I reckon you should take a look at the National team and realise how * Scotland are and that building a team round that is not the way forward like it was 20, 30, 40 years ago.

 

Gordon, Tierney, Brown, Armstrong, Forrest and Griffiths, thats six right there who get in our team on a regular basis.

 

Look at teams like Iceland, Hungary, Wales and the two Irelands. Who have players of similar quality to us but are getting by just fine. Its a better manager we need in the national team.

 

Out of those 6 players I'd only like to see Tierney (Not even born in Scotland) in the side going forward towards the side Brendan wants to build here for CL Last 16 contenders over the next few years.

 

He moved to Scotland at ten months old, and has been playing for Celtic since he was 7 years years old.

 

I've never seen desperation like that in my life

 

Also the Isle of Man is closer to Scotland than it is England and its part of the Celtic nations.

 

And i am pretty sure one of his parents is Scottish but i need to look into more cant find much on it.

Its nice to have Scottish players doing well for Celtic, couldn't give a * about the national team. Same feeling for any Irish youngsters who come through and do well.

 

How is Tierney being born on Isle of Man relevant to an argument of whether Scotland can currently produce good players if he moved here before 1 year old and had his entire football education here

I know it's brownie points for being anti- Scottish on here. Some * try to hard though

 

As for Armstrong. He will never be a regular in midfield long term and shouldn't be. If he can perform some kind of utility role as he proved he may be able to do yesterday then he may be an asset.

But lacks the quality to perform outwith Scotland imo. Just a very average player.

 

Yeah this is kind of how I feel.

It's good to have a few Scots, provided they are good enough, but it's not a big deal if we don't have many.
