He's playing as a box to box midfielder, he's played it well and certainly showing he has the energy to do it for 90 mins. Will take a run of games for him to start developing into that role.

 

This guy is getting ideas above his station going by his latest quotes, thinking he's going to become a main man in the middle under Brendan. He may have ousted Bitton for now but unquestionably he is only a stop gap until we bring in better in January of even next Summer. Never Celtic quality in a million years.

I'm shuddering at the thought of him coming up against Iniesta/Busquets/Rakitic later this month.

A lot of our fans have short memories, two massive moments in the game for BMG came from two Armstrong mistakes. When Hahn hit the bar and also put a shot past the post, both of those incidents came from Armstrong gifting BMG back possession needlessly. If Hahn had scored any of those two chances Armstrong would rightfully be getting torn to shreds but because he missed them people have ignored thos mistakes. In short he is pish and will expose us badly at that level, if he gives away the ball against Barca (Which he will) then we will not be so lucky as they will definitely punish us.

Folk need to wake up to how utterly average this guy is at just about everything to do with a football.

 

Armstrong is a half decent midfielder who is not good enough in any part of his game to beeing near the starting eleven. Squad player at best. The fact that McGregor is also a total shitebag at European level and Bitton is lacking that step up in his game to be a regular makes Armstrong get game time. Watchin him * up attacks and losing the ball against Gladbach was horrible.

 

A beautiful man with a beautiful accent. Playing some good soccer, too.

 

Nothing against him but he isn't good enough to be a starting long term.
