The wee patches have occurred when he has been shunted out to the wing.

Exactly, which is why I don't think he has proven his doubters wrong yet. He has the talent but he hasn't completely blown all the doubts away, he's made a good start though.

    Agreed.
I think McGinn is destined to succeed Brown.
    Just a feeling I've got.

Same, Armstrong isn't the same type of player as Brown, he likes to bomb forward and create where as Brown gets into the battles and happy sitting deeper.

Not necessarily saying I'd like to bring him in to succeed Broon when he eventually retires, who's to say we can't find a foreign version of him? However aye, in terms of the Scottish comparisons McGinn is the same kind of all action CM who I'd compare to Brown.

Armstrong is what I would call the supporting act. Still an important role though.

Not really that as such but he is just one of those players who I don't think is all that special. I don't think we'd have trouble finding someone better and more effective.

Ideally I'd like 3 new CM's between now and next summer. I think the whole midfield needs an overhaul.

Wouldn't be against Armstrong, McGregor, Henderson and Biton all being moved on depending on how well they do in the remainder of the season. I'd say they are all fighting for their future, tbh.

The older Broony, aye, not so much the younger one. I don't think it's like for like, he hasn't got the heart or the edge of Broony but he has the energy, workrate and ability on the ball.

Perhaps not like for like yet mate but he is a big Celtic man and has connections to the club. The heart and desire would be there once he pulled on that shirt. Could easily see him here.

I'm not even one of his biggest fans but I think he'd be a better option than some of the midfielders we currently have.

I think we might bring in two CM's. I see Biton been sold. We need immediate cover for Broony and Rogic can't last more than 60 minutes it would seem.
That to me would see Henderson and possibly Allan when he comes back fighting it out for a rotational spot.

Obviously we'd have to do it in stages. Bring in a new CM first then look to move a couple on etc.

We need to try and build a better squad though if we want to compete at the very top and the midfield is the most important area right now, for me.

Allan doesn't have a future here for me.

He can't get a game for Rotherham and isn't a dynamic CM which Rodgers wants.

I think Allan will be back. Problem at Rotherham is he has had a fall out with Stubbs and lack of motivation I suspect with such a small club.

I have high hopes for Scott Allan. I remember reading Brendan said he rated him and didn't want him to go out on loan.
Allan knows how to thread a ball through a needle.

Thing is, we'll have to strengthen our midfield before the qualifiers so Bitton, Henderson, McGregor etc will still he here so there shouldn't be any worries regarding injuries.

If John McGinn is full of so much potential and also a big Celtic fan why haven't we bought him over the last couple of seasons? What kind of price would he be? £4m?

I agree that we need two CMs and another DM as our midfield is our weakest spot so far I think. Broony definitely needs help in that DM position as he seems to be doing a lot of the work himself at times.

We'll also have to buy a RW due to Roberts leaving and that's going to be a huge hole to fill quality wise. It would be great if Nesbitt came back from loan more mature and ready for the first team because he's got a lot of creativity in him too.

Does Izzy's contract run out next season? Just wondering if that's another spot we have to fill? We must have some youth ready to have a go at some positions although I don't know what kind of quality in midfield our Development Squad has. Miller is fantasic but he plays Sinclairs position basically. Hendry seems pretty good.
