He was losing the ball far too much for my liking but showed the heart and desire that we really need at this level. That's why there was 3 central midfielders on the pitch ahead of Bitton tonight.

If Bitton had the same desire and responsibilty as Armstrong has shown tonight and the last few games he would be streets ahead.

I don't disagree with that bottom part at all mate, or the fact he gave the ball away a good few time's, but..... He was also good on the ball at plenty of point's, and must've covered more ground than anyone. He really took the burden off Broony, and going beyond Rogic and pressing, easing the burden off him as well..

I was never expecting him to boss a game like this in Germany, but the signs are quite promising in him under Brendan the last couple of week's..

He was mate but I think there's still more to come, he's shown in big parts tonight that he can be calm on the ball as well as hard in the challenge, he can do better than tonight I think, he did give the ball away a lot.

I feel like I'm being harsh there but that's not a criticism, that's an arm round the shoulder from Rodgers and pointing out how he can grow into that role.

Your point about Broony is a great one, first time I've seen him in Europe this season being able to focus on just his own job and we felt the benefit of that massively, that's down to the workrate and teamwork of Armstrong.

He can be chuffed with that performance but think he can grow from this performance.

I can't help but feel there's a very good player in him (relatively speaking). He's growing in confidence and improving his performances every week.

Give him an extended run in the team and I think he can do very well.

You can accept the fact that at times he gave it away, because when he did he worked his * off to win it back. That time in the first half when he lost it and chased the guy back for 30 yards and won it with a great sliding tackle was what we lack when it's bitton in there.

While he's not as good as bitton on the ball you can see the improvements he's making, there is times when he shows moments of quality. For now the jersey is his to give away.

We need better than Armstrong but, for me, he was an upgrade on Bitton tonight. Provides far more energy and running in the middle of the park than Bitton does. We need that in games where we don't have a lot of the ball and need to close space down.

I generally agree that he will improve after tonight. I've been majorly critical, and wanted him out, but I'm thinking maybe he's got a place in this squad..

Aye mate, blatantly Rodgers has taken Armstrong under his wing so to speak. Keeps bigging him up, and Armstrong is responding..

Broony was brilliant as well. People that say he can't pass only have to watch tonight... Dropping back and dictating most of our play again. His stats may not be as high as City, but will deffo have been high I imagine. He didn't look gassed like usual either. Armstrong was excellent for him..

Needlessly lost the ball a few times tonight, but I was extremely impressed by Armstrong's passion, desire, drive and effort tonight.

One of his best performances in a Celtic shirt, offered 10x more spirit than Bitton has in a long time......

Good workrate, but his use of the ball tonight was criminal, too many off passes.

I'm glad he's finally getting a run in the middle of the park.

I was harsh on him earlier after their goal but i think he came on to a game and in the end did very well!
think he paid them too much respect early doors.

Made mistakes but always looked for the ball and tried things, a positive performance.

Would take him over Bitton any day of the week.

I thought he did OK, gave the ball away a number of times, but overall a decent performance.

Good performance, seems most of us have the same opinion of his game tonight. Didn't hide away.

He is a better and more intelligent player and is growing in confidence the longer Brendan keeps faith with him.
Broony looks like he dozen't need to expend half his incredible energy anymore with Armstrong there.
I doubt we would have got the draw tonight if Biton had been playing.

His attitude and commitment is spot on. Gave the ball away endlessly tonight though, and that has to change for big games like this.

He is still too slack in possesion at the moment imo but hopefully with a run of games he will improve on that. His desire to win the ball back when he lost it though was great to see.

There was particular moment that's sticking in my mind, can't remember exactly what minute, but the camera showed a pitch side view replay and he was busting a * gut after he lost the ball and he put in a great tackle when he caught up with a Gladbach player, Bitton would have just gave up when he lost it.

I've been a critic of his & so disappointed with him but tonight despite everyone around me getting stuck in to him I thought he worked tirelessly & showed some nice pieces of skill. Yes he was caught on the ball & yes his passing & decision making weren't always up to scratch but for once I was proud of his efforts. For a guy that was kind of thrown in at the deep end at this level I think he did the best he could have & I was pleased with his performance.
