Neither are the required level I agree. Armstrong deserves his chance though.

He is not better than Broony or Ledley.

Fair enough. It's not saying much that though is it?

He is a classy player on his day but he is being hopelessly exposed by those around him this season.

Everyone else is buzzing around and making things happen whereas Bitton is just waiting for things to come to him more often than not.

He needs to * seize games by the throat, he doesn't do that enough.

For what it's worth, in Brendans ideal I/II formation, Bitton would shine with two workhorses either side of him. To accomodate him in a II/I like we do now, he jus doesn't do enough.

I said last season under Ronnie, if used properly. Stuart Armstrong could be moulded into the Paul Lambert role. I still believe this. I enjoy his intelligent play.

I agree and have mentioned that before. He would be best playing the 'Busquets' role in the middle of a 4-3-3.

Since Wanyama left, the CM's we've signed are...Johansen, Armstrong, Allan and Christie. I think that's it. Hardly great competition is it?

Even then, Johansen in his 3 or 4 month purple patch was far better than Bitton has ever been at Celtic. And Armstrong right now deserves to be playing ahead of Bitton.

He's not had much competition since he's been here and he's still not fully convinced. Doesn't say much about him.

Can't agree that Johannsen was far better than Bitton. For me Bitton is not guilty of wasting as much possession as Johannsen. Even when he broke through on goal he woul panic. Bitton is adapting to Rodgers style and is much better than the aforementioned.

He was okay, nothing more. He needs to be far more aggressive and imposing, a long way to go before he'll be seen as a starting player.

Totally agree, even when Bitton came on he was honking, I would stick with Armstrong just now until we can sort this in January

Armstrong had been doing a bit better recently but he's definitely only a stop gap. If he's still in and around our first team in a years time Brendan will have * up.

Same as Bitton. Just needs more aggression for me. Although I think Bitton is more technically gifted.

Definitely, Bitton could be a very classy player if he upped his intensity and directness going forward.

Vastly improved player on last year. Stuart has potential, a different player this season.

He's a vastly better option than Bitton, atm that's clear to see. Adds along with Brown a certain mobility to our midfield, also obviously a goal threat....

8 goals from 67 games isn't a decent goal threat imo when he's played most of those games in advanced positions either on the left of a front three behind the striker or indeed behind the striker.

Commons is someone I'd consider a goal threat.

Vastly better option is a ridiculous thing to say as well. Armstrong can't even make the Scotland squad ffs.

It's his style, watch players like Busquets, Silva, even our own Rogic. They can't make themselves play at a higher intensity and faster pace. It's just their natural game and the way they play football. Just need to embrace the quality that they have.

For the way Bitton is playing, Armstrong is a far better option atm...
