Good to see the lad taking his chance. Looking tidy recently.

It's clear Brendan doesn't view him as a player to play next to Brown but more behind the striker in Rogic's position.

Bitton's position is secure for this weekend thankfully and so it should be.

How so? He played in the 2 of a 4231 tonight and was MOTM.

"Thankfully", seriously give it up. Armstrong's performance tonight was better than anything we've seen from Bitton in the league for a while. He deserves to keep his place this weekend. Fair enough you like Bitton, but sometimes you need to take the blinkers off and see it for what it is.

No blinkers at all, I thought Henderson and McGregor were the holders tonight with Armstrong in front of them no?

Ah I see, Bitton may well lose his place then. Will be the wrong decision though because Armstrong will * it at Pittodrie like he did last season. Consistency is not his strong point.

Getting more and more like the player and displaying the reasons why we signed him.

Has shown a real professional attitude, even when things weren't going his way last year. He's a completely different approach to the game than Rogic, that variety is a good thing. Influenced the game tonight from a starting role and in previous sub appearances has had an impact on the game.

Even more valuable to us than the variety to his play, he'll be good for a good few goals.

It's not Bitton's strong point either. That's the problem.

At least with Armstrong you get a lot more energy and running, plus he looked a bit tougher tonight. Got stuck in a couple of times. Him and Brown will hassle the Aberdeen midfield. He's a confidence player, and it will be sky high after tonight, plus his performance against the huns.

What do you actually see in Bitton? Start of last season he was arguably my fav player behind Brown and Thumb but since signing that new deal he has been *, he doesn't offer anything! At least Armstrong collects the ball and moves it quick and with a purpose, yes sometimes he goes missing in games but hes young enough to solve that, but Bitton has been pish and just slows the game down, hes been noted missing last 3 Celtic Rangers games!

Also I don't feel Armstrong is the long term solution to the centre mid pos I still think we should go out and buy someone but I think he deserves more of a chance considering Bitton has been playing so poorly.

I think that's a bit harsh on Bitton to say he was missing in the game against Sevco at home this season, it was his pass that created the Dembele goal and overall I thought he had a good game that day.

What I see in Bitton when on top form is a player who is in total control of the football and makes it his *, has plenty composure/calmness and can thread passes through the eye of a needle, he also has some skill at times as well. Can ping passes from one side of the field to the other with great accuracy and is also a decent goal threat both from set pieces and long range. His tackling for me is his biggest problem often mistimed giving away silly FKs in dangerous positions and picking up needless bookings. But again there are other times where he tackles perfectly winning the ball back and launching an attack but he needs to be more consistent with that as it's one of his biggest weak points imo.

Added to this he's expressed many times he loves the club and has no wish to move on when don't kid yourself there will be plenty suitors. When Ronny was in charge he had a gang of mates that were VVD, Denayer, Johansen and Guidetti. Everyone of them wanted to leave Celtic for the 'bright lights' elsewhere and there would have been many times they told Bitton to do the same. But he's got a great enough mentality to know what he has here and is grateful for that as he's said many times in interviews.

That is an honest assessment of how I view Bitton.

Fair assessment of when he's on form I'd say. He's class on form.

Unfortunately that has't been for a long while, barring the odd game here and there.

There won't be plenty suitors right now, well not any teams that are better than us. You keep saying he's a decent goal threat from set pieces and long range. Not really.

He's scored a couple of headers and a couple of long range shots in about 100 games.

Edit: probably shouldn't post that in here in case any kids read it. I'll post my reply in the Huddle, since you're a GM.

Good player, clever player and what a beautifully disguised goal that put the game beyond doubt.
Has incredible energy just like Broony. We may have found Broony's partner tonight.

It's better value for money if you are hungry enough, but what with diminishing returns and all, it can often work out not being worth it.

Do you not think Armstrong looks very 'stiff as a board' and wooden looking when he's running about with his posture?

He just doesn't look fluid in his movement.
