Agreed. Obvious today that our midfield is instantly solidified when Armstrong plays.
He was the driving force alongside Brown in the second half that swept Rangers away.

The thing with Armstrong is, he was great when he came on against them last month, then in the next few matches he was poor.

We know that with a bit of confidence, he can do a job. Hopefully he can keep it up.

    He's an impact player.

Not a starter for me. Quicker the January window opens the better so we can address the midfield.

Thought so too, he changed the pace of the game a bit with his energy and willingness to get in behind their midfield. Great impact, he should play with that same desire every time he's on the park and he'd be staying in the team but he's lacked the consistency to stay there. Last hun game he done the same, came on and ran amok then never done much after it, needs to kick on.

Looked good when he came on, unlucky not to score.

Need to see that sort of performance more often though.

Impressive when he came on today.

I'd consider giving him or McGregor a run beside Brown, Bitton isn't doing it.

Added so much energy in the middle, driving forward and picking the ball creating, plus worked back well. Play him in the middle with Brown against County.

He's improved as a player since last season. I stated that he and GMS should be sold in January if they weren't improving on the pitch, well Armstrong is certainly proving his worth when he gets minutes.

I need two make two templates for my replies to this thread.

"He was terrible again today, didn't even notice he was playing half the time."

"What a player, the difference he made when he came on was fantastic, just at the perfect time too when the team needed some impetus he provided it, he's got to start next game."

Only seems to perform vs Rangers. Which may be enough to keep him in the squad.

True, we have a few players like that in our team. Bitton and Forrest too - both can be matchwinners in their own right but more often than not are frustrating as *.

Suppose we've always gotta have at least one to fill the "Samaras" role :D

Oh man what I would do for another Samaras. He's a mythical character to me. The slaggings he could take and yet he had the same expression on his face at the start of every game so you never knew what you were going to get. But the anticipation was there, the hope, the optimism, the amnesia, the imagination, all the things that make football amazing, Sammy embodied them. He was the tortoise and the hare. A mythical Greek animal full of philisophical meaning.

Jamesy Bhoy has come the closest to that I guess him being either the tortoise or the hare that shows up. Brendan seems to have a lot to do with that this season. There are the same moments of anticipation starting to happen again when he first appeared on the scene. But also the moments of thinking get Roberts on ffs :giggle1:

All in all I think it's fair to say it's a good time to be a * :34::brendy:

If Armstrong keeps this up he might save us a lot of money. And sell Biton for £3M from the first serious enquiry.
