He plays much better in that psotion than being out wide.

we have seen this before with griff, jamesy and now Stuart, all 3 seem to be only able to play to their best when in there most suited position.

Griff is better through the middle and doesnt quite get it playing wide.

Forrest is just much better on the right playing left is too far outside his comfort zone.

And Armstrong just needs to play through the middle he is not suited to playing wide.

Ned to judge players when they are actually playing their own position and through the middle staurt can doa job for us. He has got to be a better option than bitton rightnnow

Didn't Griff play decently when he was out wide for Hibs, though?

He didn't play out wide for Hibs.

Played as part of a partnership with Gary O'Connor then up front himself.

SA on going from derby win to Barca loss: "Elation of Saturday as we won, and won well and broadened the gap.

SA: "Tuesday was quite a contrast. Everyone knew how good they were but we’ve learnt different things.

SA: "We discussed it as a team and highlighted what we could have done differently.

SA: "It’s hard to pinpoint what it is about Barcelona. Their movement is excellent, their technique and they move the ball very well.

SA on back-to-back big games: "We play football for these games. It’s a big ask but one we were comfortable with.

SA: "Tuesday was a different matter but we’re ready for these things.

SA on upcoming game v @ICTFC :"A trip to Inverness is a different atmosphere from the last two games but we’re ruthless in the league.

    SA: "Want to continue that.

PLAYING so many big games back-to-back is bound to bring with it a mix of emotions and results but Stuart Armstrong believes Celtic can cope with the workload.
The Hoops emerged as 5-1 victors from the Glasgow derby last weekend but they followed that impressive performance up with a 7-0 loss to Barcelona on Tuesday in the UEFA Champions League.
They now face the task of getting back to winning ways by maintaining their ruthless run in the league with a difficult trip away to Inverness Caley Thistle this Sunday.
Armstrong said he has rarely gone from such a high to such a devastating low in the course of a week, but said it was all part and parcel of the rollercoaster ride of professional football.
“We had the elation of Saturday and what a huge game it was for us, the club and the fans and broadening that gap at the top of the league so it was so important we won and won well,” he said of the comprehensive Glasgow derby win. "I thought we were quality from start to finish.
“We then had the disappointment of Tuesday night, which was quite a contrast. Everyone knew how good Barcelona were and what qualities they had.
“Losing was disappointing and losing so disappointingly as well, but we have learnt different things from that and we’re looking to take it into the next game. We discussed it as a team and highlighted different things we could have done and it’s all about learning from these things.
“We play football to play these games. Obviously, having two big games side by side was a big ask but it’s one we were comfortable with. We were delighted with the win on Saturday and I thought we were terrific. Tuesday was a different matter but we’re learning from these things.”
The Scottish champions go into the weekend round of Premiership fixtures with a two-point advantage over second-place Hearts, with a game in hand over their closest competitors.
The Bhoys are the only team in the league with a 100 per cent record ahead of Sunday’s tussle in the Highlands, and Armstrong said the Hoops have no intention of ending that run of wins when they take on a currently struggling Caley Thistle side, who will be keen to kick-start their season with the visit of the champions.
“A trip away to Inverness is a different atmosphere from the last two games," he said, "but we’re ruthless in the league so far this season and we want to continue being so, so it’s vital we get the three points and everyone is willing for that to happen."

CELTIC head to the Highlands this weekend, intent on making it five league wins out of five with a victory over Inverness Caley Thistle. Brendan Rodgers have enjoyed a perfect start to their title defence, and last weekend recorded an emphatic 5-1 victory in the first Glasgow derby of the season.
Stuart Armstrong came on early in the second-half of that game and capped an impressive performance with Celtic’s fifth goal of the afternoon.
It was an experience he savoured, which was in sharp contrast to events on Tuesday night, when the Hoops lost 7-0 to Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League.
Once again, Armstrong came off the bench, entering the fray when the Hoops had already conceded five goals.
However, he believes both experiences will ultimately prove beneficial to him and his team-mates as they aim to learn from victories and defeats.
“We were winning when I came on last Saturday and adding a goal on Saturday was huge for me personally,” he said. “Tuesday was completely different, coming on at 5-0 down and trying to shore things up. That’s professional football - different situations every week.”
While Celtic have a 100 per cent record in the Premiership going into this weekend’s clash, Caley Thistle, now managed by Richie Foran, currently sit second bottom of the table, with four points from their opening five fixtures.
But those points have come in their last two fixtures – a win at home to St Johnstone and a draw away to Pittodrie.
And they will be determined to try and get a confidence-boosting win over the champions. However, Armstrong and his team-mates are focused on getting the victory.
“A trip away to Inverness is a different sort of atmosphere from the last two games we have played,” he said. “We’re ruthless in the league this season and we want to continue being so. It’s vital we get the three points and everyone is willing for that to happen.”

Never a football player. Slept wae one maybe.

Can't pass, can't shoot, second touch is a tackle, can't beat the first man when taking a corner. Woeful.

Surely Henderson and Christie deserve opportunities before this guy.

Disappointing again tonight. We've rarely seen the best of him at Celtic and there are other players in the squad who play in the same area of the field as him and are better than him. It may be time to admit this is a signing that hasn't worked out and move him on in January.
