I actually thought it was a good sub at the time as Rogic tires. I was indeed correct:icon_mrgreen:

Aye I thought it was a smart move to get Rogic off. He was puffing and Rangers were starting to get a wee bit of space. They were smothered again after Armstrong came on.

I imagine he'll see some game time in that position in Europe if he can keep that up. The defensive side of his game will be important. Being able to switch at appropriate times between two such different players (Rogic and Armstrong) in that position is another great tool for Rodgers to have in his tactical toolkit.

Armstrong has always had these tools in his locker, when he is played in his most favoured position central midfield. He was turning in steady performances week in week out with Dundee United in that role, that is why we signed him. I think Brendan has had his eyes opened with Armstrong after yesterday.

Brendan is very tactically astute. I like how he acts instantly to address problems that arise in matches.

Glad he scored, was starting to become the new whipping boy.

I think he definitely has something, he just needs played in his right position.

Armstrong is a Totally different player to rogic - not as good as rogic at finding space between the opposition defensive and midfield lines or as creative but he is more mobile, able to go beyond the defence and is better at pressing and counter pressing the opposition - putting him on yesterday was a master stroke by Rodgers, Rangers couldn't cope with the change - I for one am happy that our manager recognises where his best position is and I think he will be a revelation in that position coming on for rogic.

Gret sub appearance just watching the highlights on Sky Sports, involved in everything when he came on, good he got a goal too.

I've always like him as well, decent well rounded player but was innefective for too long out on the left it became annoying. Hasnt been allowed to play the position he did yesterday much for us and has only played centre-mid 1 or 2 times as well which are probably his best positions.

Still not a big fan of him, he was really good yesterday though.

If he wants to play back up to Big Tam and puts in performances like that I'll be delighted.

The Bhoy won me £224 on a £4 bet. Correct score. He will be more consistent this season if he gets game time.

I read on here he refused two loan moves to Championship sides. I find that impressive because it suggests he's refusing to accept defeat and knows if Brendan plays him in the best position he'll be able to flourish so he's stayed determined to fight for a place.

I thought he was very direct and effective in his play when he came on yesterday.

From what Brendan said, he also recognises he was wasted out on the wing and he'll be a much better player more central. I just love our manager, he's going to get the best out of him.

Well done on that bet btw Packybhoy :50:

Not his biggest fan, far from it. I can see why he was on yesterday though. Has the tactical nous and energy to hammer in to/ press opposition from the front. Great tactics from Brendan. Guy is different class.

Just cause Armstrong scored, doesn't give him rights to ever go near a free kick or corner ever again.
