I was raging when he came on for Rogic, but it turned out to be a great substitution. He changed the entire game in the middle to front area of the park, and it was once again a masterpiece from the manager.

I have total faith in Armstrong. He has went missing in key games last season. Like everyone else. But Brendan's philosophy will work for him and I am glad he stayed. He was a better signing than GMS. He will do a big job this season. Finished coolly today. Go on my son.:50:

Was he actually good? Or was it because he managed to nick a goal and we humped them?

Obviously you need to take the level of opposition into account, but he definitely had a good game. Didn't put a foot wrong and if I remember rightly we were floundering a bit just before he came on.

The goal summed his performance up nicely. Arriving in the box, in the right position and great composure.

That's good to hear. Hope Rodgers helps him out and he can kick on.

Been hugely critical of him lately and to be honest I feel I have been right to do so.

Really pleased for him getting that goal though. It is his best position, without doubt, could still go on and pop up with some crucial goals this season when Tam is out the side.

First time I've seen him play in his proper position today and what a difference!

Loving him since the Dundee days. Piece of class IMO, best signing from SPL through these last years. :celt_2:

Happy for him played out of position last season and lost his way he looked as if he just wanted to pick the ball up and drive the team forward when he came on, took his goal well at the time I thought he had took a touch more than needed.

Yesterday was rare occasion where he played in the position that got him noticed at Utd. When he came on the energy and pace of the team went up a gear.

I was shocked when he came on for Rogic but man...he was superb. Totally different player under Rodgers, just like half of our squad

It was great to hear Brendan come out and say he thinks this is his best position, through the middle :50:

It's one good sub appearance so let's not get too carried away. But, yes, he had a big impact when he came on.

I think that role suited him, and he performs it differently to Rogic. He harried the opposition well, and got himself into good positions. Brendan highlighted after the game that he feels that's Armstrongs best position, so I that's where I expect to see him from now - albeit as a reserve for Rogic.

His position was always through the middle, that's where you'll get the best from him. He's wasted being played out wide as we've seen before. Decent enough backup to Rogic, who was brilliant yesterday.

Hopefully Rodgers can get some more out of him. Having an on form Armstrong as back up to Rogic would be great. And we need a back up considering Rogic tends to drop off/get subbed after 60 minutes or so.
