Armstrong is a far superior player to Mackay-Steven. I've never seen a player so easily shoved off the ball in my life.

If Mackay Steven was A) available for the right price - which, to me, is anywhere between £0-£500,000 and B) signed on the understanding that he would not play every game, then I'd be all for it.

He is inconsistant, injury-prone and, defensively a bit of a liability. But, he is entertaining and is well capable of providing the piece of skill that can open up a packed defence.

Think he'd be a great option off the bench with 15-20 minutes left. Better than some of the more expensive foreign recruits, anyway.

As for Armstrong, it all depends on price. I like to see Celtic snapping up Scottish talent, and he is undoubtedly one of the brighter players in the game.

....if you look at Mackay-Stevens' starting position and where he ends up, he's stood next to Armstrong wanting a pass, 8 seconds later he's going tearing past the centre backs.

Kieran i get what your saying, but good luck with that sales pitch.
Dundee United will literally pish themselves laughing at 500k.

Likewise Mackay-Steven would pish himself laughing at the prospect of signing for any club if they went up and told him, we want you to sign, we've got a place up for grabs on the bench.

Then he can * off then. I don't think he's good enough but if he doesn't believe he's good enough to break into the first team he's already lost.

Isn't Mackay-Steven a free agent in the summer? I'm pretty sure I read something about that yesterday.

I don't see why we'd offer a fee unless we were really desperate for him, or if we thought it might help us with other dealings with United. Personally, I've never really got the hype for him. I agree with what Kieran said, he'd be a decent squad player but I don't see him being anything more.

I like Armstrong though. He probably wouldn't walk straight into the starting XI, but he has bags of potential. Of all the Scottish talent we've been linked with this window, he's the one I hope we go for.

That's not an example. No one tries to shove him off the ball. Just a series of hilariously poor tackles.

Only in Scotland would a player with a bit of ability on the ball be mocked.

Nah, lets sign a workhorse instead that has no actual outstanding playmaking abilities, he has 6 assists in 20 games this season...

    I'd rather Mackay-Stevens than Armstrong.
