Dundee United are playing us in the Final, the chairman will know if their 2 best players are wearing the hoops instead of the tangerine it will not go down well at all with their fans. I know money talks and we can still get them in this window, but I honestly beleive the fact we're playing them in the final will make them even more reluctant to sell.

Dundee United have rejected Celtic's improved £1.6 million bid for Stuart Armstrong made this afternoon.

I'm not convinced Celtic will pay the £2.2m fee Utd want for Armstrong but I expect them to make another bid of around £250k for GMS tonight

Celtic are preparing to make a third bid for Stuart Armstrong although I don't believe its been made yet, this one is thought to be £1.85m

I completely understand our technique. The trick on ultimate team used to be, increase your bid by the minimum amount until the other guy got bored. Peter Lawell has a good understanding of negotiations and I trust him to bore these * into a cut price deal!

Sources on Tayside say Celtic have whacked in a third bid for Stuart Armstrong. Last night they offered £1.6million and it’s believed to have been upped to a couple of hundred of thousand more.

But Tannadice insiders insist they have knocked back this latest bid. United chief Stephen Thompson set the price at £2.5million at the end of last year.

    Watch this space.

Our bids have been £1.4m to £1.6m to £1.85m so far - Lawwell can try & claim that's trying, its insulting to the Utd, to the player & to his own clubs fans.

That's just the way negotiations go. Both parties obviously have their high and low limits respectively, if they lie within eachother the deal will be done before midnight.

If Celtic jumped from £1.4m to £1.85m right away it may have given Utd a sense to actually want to negotiate instead of playing hardball.

Aye, it's almost as if Lawwell doesn't want the bids to be accepted.

"Dundee United just wouldn't deal with us. I love Lawwell, I'm so different, I'm against the grain. I'm a hipster Celtic fan.".

    Lawwell.

As he knows the idiots of our support will run with the myth that Scottish teams wont deal with us, thus clearing any pressure aimed at him for not bringing anyone in.
