Lawwell: We're all about value for money. £2.5m for Bangura? Gie's it! £2m for Armstrong? No way!

I bet Utd are * themselves! Just pay what he's worth, we know what he can do, he already plays in Scotland and isn't costing anything we haven't paid before for "unknowns" from Europe. Don't let this be another young scottish talent slipping through our fingers.

They know fine well they can get that for him in the Summer at least, probably more than that.

The English teams have pushed the prices up Vertie. Any team that gets promoted might not have the money of the top teams, but they sure as * can afford £3million on Armstrong.

I don't think you can offer a loan deal and expect it to be seen as good value, because they want to put guys on long deals and sell them on.

Couple of the guys with six months on their deals might be worth throwing into the mix, but i don't see it happening.

Looks like maybe we don't have the time to * about on this one when other deals might be in the pipeline. Although it is a deal we would all like to see happen.

Feelers coming out of Dundee United is that Gary Mackay-Steven is more likely to sign for Celtic tonight than Stuart Armstrong.

GMS of course has already agreed a pre-contract and was due to arrive in the summer but he could hotfoot it to Glasgow before then. That could all change though (thought we’d add that wee disclaimer).

:56: We just would have a bid rejected then immediately bid the same amount again.
