Like Ryan Gauld or Andy Robertson?

"Oh, someone mentioned Müller - they must think that Armstrong could cut it at Bayern."
    * incredible that people still can't distinguish between a comparison of styles and a comparison of abilities.

Tonev and Wakaso have no future at Celtic; Henderson is still developing and is far more suited to playing in the centre, in my opinion; he's better than Mackay-Stevens, evidenced by the fact that he starts ahead of him for United. With Commons leaving, it's a no-brainer for me.

Robertson and Gauld are players I would maybe have taken, but just because we didnt bit for them does not mean we should buy Armstrong.

We'd have Brown, Johansen, GMS, Bitton, Armstrong, Forrest, Henderson, maybe Commons and McGregor. 9 players for five positions seems like reasonable cover to me. If Boerrigter and Rogic ever become fit to play again we might even have too many midfielders.

Good age to sign him. Has played plenty at the age of 22 already and moving to Celtic now we'd get him in while he's still got some developing time left. Fits the Ronny model.

What relevance do Gauld and Robertson have to Armstrong? Why not pick 2 players that had potential and flopped?

I personally believe he is worth what we have bid, all the talk of the Board penny pinching is * incredible. They are the custodians of our money we pump into the Club. I'd be raging if they stuck a 2.5 million bid in not the opposite.

I haven't heard Commons was leaving . When was it announced ?

I think Henderson is more suited playing in the centre but at the same time I like the idea of him picking up experience by playing in different positions , it will help him in the long term .

if this deal goes through i can see it being the end of commons and maybe the removal of his offer.
And if it does not go through maybe he will get the two years he wanted.

P.s. when does the splfplfplfplf shut this window.

Henderson needs game time in his best position and that's in the middle of the park, would be pointless playing him out of position, a loan deal for him would be much better so he gets game time in a first team to help him progress.

What's going to help him in the long term is first team football not playing him out of position here and there, so fingers crossed he gets loaned out for more game time.

Still amazes me that you think Commons is pish, especially after his recent performances - not every journalist in world football and their granny could be wrong about him, could they?

Currently Commons is leaving Celtic. That only changes if he signs an extension.

I doubt Armstrong would score 54 goals in 115 games for Celtic. Hardly a 'win win situation'.

this is what amazes me aswell . it is only his own fans that dont rate commons . Every single commentator/presenter constantly stresses that he is our best/most/creative/dangerous/important player , as do the journos . Hun forums all saying " we need to stop commons" . English people down my way see him as our best player . Yet his own fans can slate him after 60 goals in 117 games from midfield. baffling .
